Re: Conky (or system monitors)?
@protozone; Conky is this kind of tool: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conky_(software)#/media/File:Arch_Linux.png and it allows to continuously keep under control CPU, Memory, Disk, Netiwork etc. Since it polls data every (typ) 1 sec, I wonedered about the audio process impacts, which should have pr...

Conky (or system monitors)?
Hello there, I'm an aficionado of my Cinnamon desktop environment in Linux Mint 18.3. In conjunction with conky (system monitor) it is a real eye-catcher, What do you think about conky itself? Is it adding lot of overhead? Do you use it in your audio production setup? Any experience to be shared her...

Re: Crash of Carla when saving a patch in Zebra2 v7420
Thanks for the quick answer Felipe.
I do confirm that the "load Carla backend in the global namespace" is flagged.
I'll report this issue to abique.
Thanks again,
Alberto

Crash of Carla when saving a patch in Zebra2 v7420
Hello FalkTx, I was trying the latest build of u-he Zebra v2.8 in Carla. https://www.reddit.com/r/UheOnLinux/comments/8n6mrk/diva_repro1_satin_and_zebra2_rev7420/ It seems to run very smooth, until I try to save a patch ==> Carla crashes. This also happens in Ardour. It doesn't, instead, in Bitwig &...

Hi Sadko4u,
congrats for the big release!
I'm just curious anyway: what the issue with GTK libs? API stability?

Alberto

I promise you: "ambient" track on SoundCloud
Hello Linux friends, I put a new track on SoundCloud, it's called "I promise You". https://soundcloud.com/albertoz/ipromiseyou I would call it "ambient", but to me putting a tag is difficult. The track is based on a long and very simple phrase. It has in my opinion an airy, and b...

Re: Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
Hi there! Interesting software. From where you got the code? All links seem dead to me. Good question :-) I downloaded some time ago, did the search today and the only useful source I'm able to find is (sic !): http://download.cnet.com/AlgoScore-for-Linux/3000-2133_4-75218290.html Apart from the hu...

Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
Hello, I got recently interested on Algorscore: http://kymatica.com/Software/AlgoScore , seems an interesting SW. I tried to build it without success (on Mint 18.3). After some tweaks to go on with the compilation, the major show-stopper I've seen (if I understood correctly from the build output) is...

Yes, as elections are getting closer this is the best motto I can think of among those we have to hear every day..."More Linux for all" (Italian people can easily understand this motto)

Re: Poll ZynAddSubFX new UI
Ah, ok, didn't know about that. Thanks for pointing it out..That work was actually done prior to the GUI rewrite for the 2.5.0+ (Feb 2015) series of releases. The reworking of the internal architecture was a major step which made large changes like the GUI rewrite possible.

Re: Poll ZynAddSubFX new UI
Like Brian, I voted for the new UI. I looked at the youtube video of unfa interviewing Mark McCurry (fundamental) and I understood that besides the UI changes (truly deserved), the new interface decouples the audio engine from the GUI, that before were (too) closely interconnected. Communication bet...

kx studio repos after Mint 18.3 fresh install
Hello falktx, two days ago I performed a full (and painful) install of Mint 18.3 Cinnamon (based on Xenial 16.04) on my old Mint 17.3. First thing I did was to add the kxstudio ppa :-) in order to have my music setup ready. I followed the instruction on kxstudio website, http://kxstudio.linuxaudio.o...
