Re: Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
[off topic] Why is is to hard to build an application/executable code from old source code? ... In one word? Evolution. This is where functions and interfaces may change: or you are able to recreate the same ecosystem in which the SW has been created or you will be in trouble. I anyway subscribe th...

Re: Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
Hello again, attached here is a small pdf describing the build process. I know that what I describe is all but optimal, but bear in mind that I don't know the source nor the Build tool (CMake). What I'd like to do is to add back the CSOUND support to hear how the scores sounds. Ideas are welcome. Go...

Re: Freeware alternative for SynthEdit?
I don't want this thread to deviate from the topic but there are few clarifications: Well, the patches that they made in Pd-extended do not work anymore. Could you be more specific? I did all my patches in pd-extended back in the old days of 2006-2012. They work out of the box in purr-data (my littl...

Re: Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
This page has some useful info: http://kymatica.com/apps/algoscore . (Note that is different from the url in the OP) From that page: NOTE: This is an abandoned project and included here only for historical reasons. ...! There is also a link to the source tar.bz2 on that page, which is probably bett...

Re: Freeware alternative for SynthEdit?
snip Have you tried Purr Data? I think I prefer this over any others but you are right, it is a mess on linux.. Why do you say that it is a mess? I installed purr-data (Pd-l2ork-2.9.0 20190416-rev.2b3f27c) and it is working quite fine and stable for me. I really like it much more of the vanilla ver...

Re: Anyone able to build Algoscore recently?
Hi there, I had a full spare afternoon and I attacked the problem of building Algoscore again. My driver is just "curiosity". I finally was been able to build it with some editing of Cmake stuff (read: nightmare). In practise I disabled the CSound output (the program is strictly "link...

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource
Thanks oddy.o.lynx for pointing out the link! The .deb package is more stable for me, I don't have the preset issues anymore (I just wonder why the raw compilation of sources provides something different...). I'm amazed of the possibilities that this synth seems to have, including processing of inpu...

Re: vember audio surge is now opensource
Hello, I built surge yesterday from the git repository (the surge build provided by kxstudio crashes at startup in my case). I get everything working for few seconds, then when I switch preset the synth stops working, i.e. it doesn't provide audio anymore. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks, ...

Re: Sonarworks Headphone Calibration Plugin
Is it really off topic to discuss any closed source software in the rest of the forum? Looking at the mission of the site ( https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=271#p896 ) it shouldn't be the case, but I'm very careful in starting a "religion war", I've seen too much in the...

Re: Loomer's Architect announced
Ah yes, Keykit. I used it a lot quite some time ago. Lots of fun. I hope architect will let me do things I used to do in keykit: I mean, midi phrases manìpulation, algorithmic generation of sequences and so on. Have you played with renoise much? You can do a lot of that stuff with phrases and effec...

Loomer's Architect announced
Loomer, one of the audio companies that supports Linux since many years, has announced "Architect", a modular Midi Toolkit: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=517104 Look at the specifications, this is a real beast . It will be available within end of December, after ...

Possible issue with Carla and latest u-he plugins
Hello FalkTx, I had an issue with Carla, Ardour 5.12 and Harrison Mixbus when saving a patch with the newest U-He plugins. The reference of the issue is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/UheOnLinux/comments/9ecge1/issue_on_preset_saving_host_crashes_in_ardour/ In synthesis saving a patch on any recent ...

Great Plugin. I just tested it today: I love the UI + it sounds great (having freeverb as engine it is a warranty...).
Thanks for sharing it.
