DiscoDSP Highlife sampler
DiscoDSP released the (old) HighLife sampler as a "free for non commercial use" to celebrate 20 years in the market. https://www.discodsp.com/highlife/ Tried it, installs and runs fine. As I don't use samplers very much, I'd like to hear what you think about it. My only complain up to now ...

Re: Granular Synthesizer ?
Hi, an early version of the Borderlands granular synth was released as GPL 3
https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~carlsonc/256a/Borderlands/
It is not a plugin, it is a standalone synth, Compiles and run perfectly on Linux.

Re: Midi over BTLE
Update (just for future reference). The Midi over Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) is now working fine on my system (Mint 20.1). The recorder (of my previous post) can now be used as a midi controller (and that is fun :D ). It appears in jack as an ALSA midi device called re.corder. What I did is to foll...

Re: Looking for a metronome plugin to use in Carla
The only decent looking thing I've seen is the monoplugs metronom but that seems to be long dead (except for the ios version on the apple app store that I have on my ipad), unless there's somewhere to dowload it from that I haven't found... Hi, Monoplug disappeared from the dev scene some time ago....

Midi over BTLE
Hello, i sustained a project on kickstarter about the "recorder 2.0": https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/888369457/the-recorder-reinvented/ I received the instrument and up to now I've lot of fun with the app they made for smartphone using the BTLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to run some inst...

Re: GSI
Well, I contacted him (Guido Scognamiglio) and he was very kind in responding quickly.
The answer was that there are no plans in the near future to build other plugins for our beloved platform.

Re: GSI
Interesting, I'll give a try. Even if I don't like the telemetry stuff (and the need of an internet connection) I'd be interested in trying the RE-201 Mark II emulation, which, according to my knowledge, it misses from Linux audio world (am I wrong?). Edit: tried in Ardour 6.3, Mint 20.1, works ok. ...

Re: Vital, Matt Tytels' new synth, free and paid versions
The full version with all features you'll only get as Pro or Subscriber. as far as I have understood the vital binary is the same, but with the pro or the Subscriber you have more presets, more waveforms and unlimited text-to-speech (which is an online stuff). In principle, from the point of view o...

Re: [ANN] New Open Source Wavetable Synth: "Vital"
If this delivers what it promises (and open source) it will be a "game changer", but looking at the business model (free-25$-80$)
I don't think it will be open source .. at least not initially.
Who knows...

Re: Is dexed a stereo or mono output plugin?
Yeah, it is mono also for me. Mono is is the switch for monophonic mode i guess. Hey LAM, thanks for checking. So it seems it is a mono plugin... That raises a question to me: was the original HW "mono output" as well, i.e. with a single audio out (or a standard L & R with the same si...

Is dexed a stereo or mono output plugin?
Hello, it's just me or Dexed has a single output? I mean, is it intended to be a mono plugin?
I installed it through kxstudio repos, just wondering if this is normal.
Edit: that's strange since there is an explicit "mono" switch..
Thanks,
ALberto

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
Great News ... I'll give a try but it seems that I need to upgrade my system first. My linux Mint 19.3 has GLIBC 2.27: ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.27-3ubuntu1.2) 2.27, while it seems that Granulizer is linked against 2.29: carla-discovery::error::/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not fo...
