I've been using a trackball for about 20 years. The best one I had was a wired Logitech one but they no longer make wired ones. My current one is the MX Ergo. I've tried some of the unknown brand ones from Amazon and haven't found any to be as good as the Logitech ones. I've also used some Kingston ...

I use OBS and setup additional audio devices in the settings page. Then set the different tracks in the advanced audio properties dialog.

It's a manual process, there is a decent amount of scripting involved to handle articulation switching, legato, etc. Most of the scripting has already been done because I reuse the same scripts across multiple projects. It will probably be next year when the pipes are converted because I'm recording...
