Re: Kumikäki - Le Bob (album made with Reaper on Linux)

Already commented on your other thread, but after listening to the whole album I can say that it doesn't disappoint. It is awesome all the way through! It sounds more like a group performance than a solo work, which is hard to pull off. As an aside, I notice that you are on an old version of Linux M...

Re: Hey Guys

Welcome to the forum, Pav Beatz!

I lived in London for a while about 20 years ago, but I wasn't into the music scene at the time. What kind of music do you produce?

Re: Hi everyone

You had me on the opening bars of the first song. You have a great sound! I'll be listening to this album all day, I think.

Welcome to the forum. I hope to hear more of your tunes in the future.

I also enjoyed watching and listening. Nice to go "under the hood" and see what software is behind the sound. I might make the same kind of video sometime.

The Ball Machine

Here is a song that my son did in Ardour. All of the synths are Yoshimi and the drums are AVL Drumkits LV2.

https://sanderson.band/2020/09/05/the-ball-machine/

It is a cover of an Animusic-inspired song by Derek Hugger, with significant changes to the composition.

Re: Started creating music again - My most recent tracks

I really enjoyed that Frisell video. It is a great rendition of a classic song. Bill Frisell is one of those great guitarists who still looks and acts like a normal human being. He doesn't have that smooth-as-butter, make-it-look-easy kind of execution that some master guitarists have. You can tell ...

This is a good song, and interesting musically. Yours is a genre we were missing on this forum, so I'm glad you are here.

Re: Hello!

Welcome Danny LyriCa!

You have a good sound. I don't understand Spanish well enough to comment on the lyrics, and Latin hip-hop/rap isn't a genre I sample very often, but your sound is very polished. You know your craft well. Are these all home studio recordings?

Re: Snötäckta fält (snow covered fields)

As for the solo being to high, I tried to listen but to my ear it sounds about right, putting it lower it might get too low. I'm totally open to other opinions though, others think it's too high? I just took a few more listens. The guitar solo is a just a touch more prominent than the lead voice. I ...

Re: Leaving, To Go To High School

This song is a deep part of my childhood musical experience. It's not my favorite John Denver song, but it's one of his classics. Actually the most famous recording of it was done by Peter, Paul, and Mary, but here's the best version recorded by Denver: https://youtu.be/k9sf7C7D3nk The other, higher...

Re: Leaving, To Go To High School

Thanks for the listens, and for the kind words. They really made Marie smile! With regard to metronomes, I agree in principle. But for practical purposes I am stuck using computer timing pretty much whenever I have a non-trivial midi track in a project, simply because my keyboard skills are not up t...

Leaving, To Go To High School

I just posted a song that I recorded with my daughter. She rewrote the lyrics of "Leaving, On a Jet Plane" to be a parody about going back to school during a pandemic after being out of the building for nearly 6 months: https://sanderson.band/2020/08/25/leaving-to-go-to-high-school/ I am particularl...

Re: Started creating music again - My most recent tracks

I really like your style, especially on the first two instrumental songs. Your use of the volume wah is very effective. I like how you layer the guitar parts, and your playing is really good. That time you spent working on your playing technique was well worth it. I look forward to hearing your futu...
