Re: TikTok Duet with Hal Walker

Yes, the music is very interesting. I enjoyed listening. The video induces vertigo, though. :)

Re: How to get Ardour to work with my rig?

I had the same problem the first time I used Ardour. You probably have to make connections on the routing grid: https://manual.ardour.org/signal-routing/Patchbay/

Re: Linux Lite Music Computer

I tried Ubuntu and Linux mint, but found Linux Lite was the best distro for my amd phenom 2 pc, with the m-audio delta 2496. So I got Bitwig 2.3.5 on it. I’ve gotten into trackers, I’ve got Tutka, Sunvox and PixiTracker. I had a more powerful pc, which is a Hackintosh and windows machine, but I had...

Re: recording EQ, compressors, etc plugins

You maybe could achieve what you want by piping a standalone Guitarix into a DAW track. Great tools for shaping your sound there, including 3-band EQ on the amps.

Re: Happy newbie

Welcome Wanderstweek! Audacity is a good place to start, and I have used it one several recordings over the years. When you get tired of its limitations there are many other options. I eventually graduated on to Ardour, which I am super happy with. Another powerful option is Qtractor, which seems to...

Re: [LAA] Noise repellent 0.1.5 is out!

Compiling software is not as scary as it sounds. I am not a coder, but I managed to muck through the process from the instructions on Github. I wrote a little tutorial a few months ago where I described how the process deviated from the instructions a little bit for me (on Linux Mint 19). It was bas...

Re: My New Guitar: Ibanez AM53

The price tag says $299. With tax it was about $320. It was manufactured in Indonesia, and I hope the factory there is doing some economic good for the country. My Telecaster was made in Mexico, and was in about that same price range when I bought it 20 years ago. I looked at other options, but I re...

Re: My New Guitar: Ibanez AM53

Some of the reviews complained about the pickups being weak, or something, but I have been really happy with them. Not sure what the reviews were about. The pickups are different on the higher-end Ibanez models, though, and the reviewers fawn over them. Whatever. For as much money as I wanted to spe...

First things first, you know. I had to play it for a couple of hours before I bothered to take the price tag off. :)

My New Guitar: Ibanez AM53

I have been wanting an archtop hollowbody since I was a teenager, and I finally bought one last week. Actually it is a semi-hollowbody Ibanez AM53, their entry-level archtop model. This guitar, and this manufacturer in general, gives you a lot of bang for your buck. So far I am really happy with it....
