Re: Come Walk With Me

Nice to hear the finished song! I was hoping you'd finish with all of that Dragonfly Reverb business and get back to work on this track. :) Congratulations on your first song with vocals and lyrics! That's a big step. The guitar is a Takamine G-series, and the bass is some cheap no-name that I found...

Sweet! I just ordered a T-shirt, and will wear it with pride! Thanks for your work on Dragonfly Reverb, Michael. This is fantastic!

Re: Batch of new songs, Sugar Gas

Thanks milo. I think I've listened to all the EC with the Attractions records1000 times each so I think you tuned into that! I definitely admire Elvis but Bruce Thomas was my fave bass player of all time. :) YEAH!!! NAILED IT!!! [milo does a happy dance] I spent a lot of time with the Armed Forces ...

Re: Batch of new songs, Sugar Gas

Solid work, ufug! Your sound is really good. I think you nailed the genre you were aiming at. Your voice is quite distinctive. It kept reminding me of Elvis Costello for some reason, although more gravely. Your guitar work is quite good, especially the steel guitar. You have a songwriting talent - m...

Re: ms20 with random panner

Cool sound and video. The whole work has a nice mood, punctuated with more discernible sounds here and there. Lots of ear candy in this piece.

Re: Quarantine

I like it. It has a slow jiving groove in the rhythm section, almost like a 70's funk piece, and the layers on top are sonically well-matched and add a lot of interest.

Re: The Music of Noah's Ark and The New Ja'dahgweh

I hear some nice raw talent here. Your band name makes it sound like there should be more of you than just one guy with a guitar. Is that an Iroquoi name? A few specific comments: "It is Now!" reminds me of Counting Crows. Very emotive vocals, but a bit hard to understand. I think you would do well ...

Re: bounce in place

You can route an Ardour track's output into a new track and then record into the next track. That is not exactly the same thing, because Bounce in Place looks like an offline processing, and the method I described would work in real time, but the result would be similar: a shiny new track with all o...

Re: "Mark as Read" button for individual threads on Unread Posts page

That makes sense. I searched through the phpBB forums and extension lists and didn't find much. Thanks for your reply.

"Mark as Read" button for individual threads on Unread Posts page

Would it be possible to have a "Mark as Read" button for individual threads on the Unread Posts page ( https://linuxmusicians.com/search.php?search_id=unreadposts )? That way you could browse the page and quickly dismiss the threads you have no interest in reading. This might make it easier to find ...

Ponygol, welcome! I hope you learn a lot of stuff here and enjoy the exchange. Feel free to ask questions if you can't find the answers you need. And let's hear some of your supposedly terrible guitar playing!

Re: Vienna! (Synth Pop, Progressive Electronic)

One more comment: I played this for my kids last night at dinner time, and they all spontaneously started dancing around in the kitchen and kept dancing for the whole 7 minutes of the track.

Re: Vienna! (Synth Pop, Progressive Electronic)

I was not aware that such a track existed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMVokT5e0zs Reminds me on Detroit Techno Stuff ... Juan Atkins, Model 500. Of course it's the other way around. I thought for sure that you were quoting TEE. You even had a picture of a train station as the cover art! I was ...

Re: Vienna! (Synth Pop, Progressive Electronic)

Did you ride the Trans-Europe Express to Vienna? Did you maybe sit in a late-night cafe there? :) There are some rhythmic and sonic echoes of the old Kraftwerk tune, which of course that means I loved your track! Very nice balance of sounds, good movement through the whole piece.
