Re: RFC: Chords, guitar diagrams, and digital file-names.
I once made an animation a frame at a time in the GIMP, editing single pixels across frames. The end result was not worth the time I spent on it, but the creative process was an invaluable education. I still use skills I developed on that project. Another time in medical school I spent several weeks...

Re: A Bandcamp Album
A lot of good tracks on that album. I especially liked "Dawn Over Bryce Canyon" because I live close to there. I'd like to ride through Derbyshire someday too.

Re: Dumb question on mastering in Ardour
When I mastered my mini-album "Pity Party" I used a workflow pretty much identical to what you describe. I exported the whole thing as one song because all of the movements blended into one another, so I don't know whether the CD markers in Ardour would give you the ability to export the s...

Re: Attic discoveries
This is really nice! The instruments are well balanced, and the choir adds a fantastic texture to the piece. Good job all around. More, please!

Re: BackupBand version 1.A -- Victims wanted
It was at a thrift store -- kind of an impulse buy. I could tell it was worth a lot more than they were asking.
I already have a kazoo, but I would probably go for a slide whistle if I came across one.

This might be the wrong time and place to confess that I bought a banjo last month!
I'll probably post a recording made with it before too long.

True, but it might get a few curious kids to listen.

Re: How to bring music out
If you're only getting 4 listens a month, why bother paying for that? People do so much stuff just because other successful people are already doing it. People who get lots of listens on Spotify do so because they are successful, it's not a case that they are successful because they get lots of Spo...

Re: RFC: Chords, guitar diagrams, and digital file-names.
I might suggest using a different symbol for "C over D" and inversions, just to keep things clear and easily readable. Those are rather different chord manipulations, and they ought to have a rather different notation symbol. I rather like the tilde, which you might consider using: ~ Methi...

Re: RFC: Chords, guitar diagrams, and digital file-names.
I'm intrigued. So this chord in TAB notation:
0
2
2
2
0
x
Would be A_0500? Or A_0302?
0
2

Hey! Success! Good show, man. Happy to hear it.
You don't have to worry about much overhead from JACK or qjackctl. I sympathize with your minimalist sentiments regarding one more step to do before you can record ... But you'll get over it. I did.

Re: Real love
That Shiny Guitar SFZ is quite good. If I weren't a guitarist I would probably want to use it. And I agree that the TAP Chorus has a nice sound. I have mostly used the chorus plugins from Calf or Guitarix, but I will have to check out Tom's. I like the synth + guitar sound, heavily weighted to the s...

The video makes a nice minimalist accompaniment to the music. How many people in today's world have the attention span for this kind of media?
