Re: My First Banjo Recordings!
Thanks, @GMaq. I appreciate that. It is a thorny issue, indeed -- so much so that I hesitated to even post this music for fear of being "cancelled." But I am very hopeful for the future.

Re: Facebook and instagram, good for publicity?
Marketers tell you that you should be where your intended audience is. It's not their job to find you -- it's your job to be where they are. So who is your intended audience? And where do they hang out? In my experience, Facebook and Instagram are no longer good for general purpose marketing for con...

Re: Hello from Chicagoland (USA)
Welcome to the forum! Are you recording acoustic drums or electronic drums?

Re: Hi
Yes, you can use Calf for professional audio. I would also recommend the x42-plugins. If you need a good reverb then try Dragonfly. There are many other plugin sets, but those are my favorites.

Re: The queen is dead (synthetic orchestral piece)
I was expecting a Smiths cover at first, but the sound is much closer to Wendy Carlos. Nice composition.

Re: My First Banjo Recordings!
Really nice sound! Is a banjo harder to play than a guitar? I've always been curious, since my only reference is Steve Martin  I'm kinda new at it, so it's hard to say. Probably not harder, but different. The technical skills are very similar to fingerstyle guitar. I doubt your heavy metal...

Nice! I think "Curators of the Stones" was my favorite. These compositions definitely tell a story.

Re: My First Banjo Recordings!
There's only a touch of EQ on the master bus, along with a gentle compressor and Dragonfly Hall dialed off just a touch from the default setting. (Actually the order is reverb -> EQ -> compressor -> then a brick wall limiter with no input gain.) All of that is applied to all tracks equally, so I thi...

Re: My First Banjo Recordings!
Thanks, jeanette_c . That's very kind of you. Acoustic instruments are so rich in texture, and I just love how these three instruments' textures play off of each other. If you want to hear more of this sound then spend some time listening to American bluegrass music. Guitar, mandolin, banjo, and fid...

Re: One girl, all alone (Noire electro)
I've listened to this several times over the past few days, but didn't have time to reply. You painted a very effective moodscape with this track. It reminds me somewhat of early 80's gothic rock, like The Cure's Seventeen Seconds and Faith albums. I really like the piano outro. I also think your vo...

Not familiar with these windows apps, so I looked up Cantible. From the description it sounds like Carla has a huge feature overlap. What functions is Carla missing that you need?

Re: again
I think the mix is good. It's okay the bury the lead in a rhythm section that good, and I think the lead is easily distinguished anyway. I really like the sound of this piece. The riff you are playing at about the 3 minute mark is awesome. I agree that the drums could do with some variation here and...

My First Banjo Recordings!
Last month I found a banjo at a thrift store, and a few weeks later I made my first recordings with it: https://sanderson.band/2021/10/04/a-trip-to-dixie/ The songs were recorded for the intro and outro music for a podcast about a trip I took to the Southern Utah town of St. George, which for histor...
