I really enjoyed this piece. It is interesting all the way through. Great choice of patches.

I also enjoyed the guitar work. I listened to the whole album a couple of times through and thought it was interesting and relaxing, a pleasurable way to spend the lunch hour!

Re: How to connect Roland e-drums with audo interface and Hydrogen?

I've never tried to record midi in hydrogen, but I have used a similar Roland kit with LMMS and it worked fine. The unit I used had a direct USB midi out.

Maybe check if it is a midi channel problem?

Also try recording midi from the drums in another linux app like lmms, qtractor, etc.

Re: Replacing/improving my windows+voicemeeter setup?

Currently using more than one sound interface is possible but not easy on Linux. I have very little experience with doing it, but I think it is done at the ALSA level. A few workarounds: 1) Plug your Boss as an analog input into the Behringer. As you said, this may increase your noise level. 2) Rest...

Also a quick plug for the AVL Drumkits lv2: http://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-avldrums

It is a little lighter than DrumGizmo, but easy to get great sound out of.

I never play live, so I can't help you much there. But there are several others on the forum who do, and I'm sure you'll learn some tips and tricks by reading and posting here.

Welcome!

Re: Gate of Aldebaran - End of stars II [space music]

I've attached my Dragonfly settings. I put it on a Aux track (send effect) in MusE, so most of the synth tracks are sent to one reverb. I just got lucky, I'm no producer. A big thank you to the guy who wrote the Dragonfly reverbs, he is on this forum somewhere. Thanks for listening and commenting, ...

Re: Gate of Aldebaran - End of stars II [space music]

Very nice from start to finish. I listened through a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Very nice electro soundscapes. This was an ambitious piece of work. I am also working on some ambient electro right now, so this inspires me! I can definitely hear the Kraftwerk influence in your slow pulsing...

Re: Not a fan of Rhythmbox, better alternatives? Also Song Stores / buying music / not streaming

I used to use iTunes on a Mac, but I agree the best approach on Linux is modular. I prefer Audacious with a WinAmp skin (cause I'm old school) as my desktop audio player, and I maintain my directory structure manually. I use ExFalso for tagging as needed. On my phone I use VLC. I transfer files to m...

Re: Soften Attack Effect

With a bit of signal routing you could do it with a delay plugin and a sidechain compressor. Duplicate your track, put a short delay on the track you want to soften, and follow that with a compressor that had a sidechain from the duplicate track that is not delayed. You'd have to fiddle with the thr...

Thanks for the kind words.

Re: Guitarix maybe.. any bass amp plugins out there?

I usually use something from the Guitarix family, either the standard Guitarix amp with built-in cabinet simulator, or one of the others (I'm quite fond of GxFenderizer) with a separate cabinet simulatior.
