Re: Best type of vocal mic for singing players?

You can't go wrong with a Shure SM-57/58. 58 is built for vocals but a 57 with a foam cap is just as good.

Re: Senri

Cool rhythms. Not sure I can follow it, though.

I like the slow pitch bending chords. Sounds like alien music, like some of your other tracks.

Re: Hi from The Republic of Ireland

Welcome, Hatchy! My guess is that you will have a fun time with your hardware/software synth. I don't have any specific experience with those devices, but if they work as class-compliant midi devices then you'll soon be off to the races. I suspect you will find Carla a useful piece of your software ...

Re: Love & Kindness

Yes, I liked that line as well. My cousin wrote most of the lyrics, and I think he did a great job. We are in unison about the song's message. The closer we got to election day in the USA, the more urgently I wanted to get this song out there.

Thanks a lot for your nice comment!

Re: your favourite guitar playing style ?

One more style which I don't think has been mentioned yet on this thread: Billy McLaughlin. He plays a two-handed tap style on acoustic guitar, and it is really amazing. His Fingerdance album is one of my favorite recordings ever. Here are two examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHUs0lEpFJE (T...

Re: Love & Kindness

Basslint , thank you for the kind words. For the record, I love my country, despite its flaws. I find the foreign stereotypes of America amusing because there is truth is them, even though they may overlook some of the obvious better things about us. We should all have a laugh at ourselves from tim...

Re: Dreams of Seagulls - I See The Dawn (electronic pop)

Nice job again. Kajsa's harmonized vocals are nice on this one. On the instrumental side I think this is a stellar arrangement of sounds - a good mixture of subtle and not-so-subtle textures. My favorite is the fuzzy bass that sometimes gets in your face, but I also like the gentle arpeggios.

Re: Love & Kindness

Very American, in a good sense. When are you guys going to make a studio album? It sounds like you're ready :D Haha! I lived in England for 2 years when I was a young adult, and that really opened my eyes to what it means to be an American. I was very much surprised to learn that not everyone in th...

Re: your favourite guitar playing style ?

You make is sound so easy and effortless. I started playing guitar 6 years ago, and have to say I cannot still play everything I would like to :-)
I started 30 years ago and still feel the same! I'm learning more every year.

Re: your favourite guitar playing style ?

A lot of good suggestions in the above, but I'll add a few thoughts. I have found over the years that I am learning the most when I am composing. My goal was never to be a great guitarist, but to play well enough to render my songs properly. Over the years I have learned styles from whatever genre I...

Man, you never know what you're going to hear next on this forum!

This is a fantastic first take on a very interesting arrangement. I love the choir with guitar and drums.

Nice to hear a glimpse from the past. Your work has improved, definitely, but you were already exploring interesting things back then.

Some of my recordings from the same time period are hard to listen to. :)

Re: Pop cover recorded as rock song

Nice guitar playing! Good choice of tones. I haven't tried Redeye, but that's a nice tremolo sound.

I don't know the original song, so not sure what to say about the arrangement.
