Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage EQ V3

It was decided to discontinue the 4000 series, the situation regarding that decision was unfortunate, I'm not willing to discuss any more details publicly. I am however happy to talk about the updates to the PTC-2A plug-in.

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage EQ V3

Regrettably it was decided to withdraw the EQ4000 from sale, I prefer not to discuss the reasons for that decision publicly. If you purchased an activation key, that will of course remain valid.

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage EQ V3

do you have ideas about implementing original plugins that would offer special aspects of audio processing ? I know what you mean, but to some extent we already do :) in so much as the DSP that drives the emulations, and the more modern designs such as the AF2-10 EQ already relies on some innovativ...

Re: OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage EQ V3

Will we see a similar update of the PTM-5A ? Yes, there are updates planned for the entire range, but, its a huge amount of work to transition all the changes in all formats / OS for all plug-ins, so it was decided to release the PTC-2A update first, that way we can gauge the reaction, and also inc...

OverTone DSP PTC-2A Vintage EQ V3

Adventurous linux audio enthusiasts can find V3.0.0 of the OverTone PTC-2A here https://www.overtonedsp.co.uk/download/download_ptc_2a/ Available as 64Bit VST (for Ubuntu 12.10 or later). 32Bit versions are no longer available unfortunately, however 32Bit (x86) hardware is extremely rare now too, an...

Re: IK Multimedia T-RackS 'group buy'

I never understood how to save parameters in the User slots of the plugins... (I don't want to hijack this thread..) - but, for the VST plug-in if you select one of the presets (either a factory one, or one of the 'user' ones) and modify the settings, that will become the new settings for the prese...

Re: IK Multimedia T-RackS 'group buy'

... however we do also have some vintage Pultec style EQ's and a Fairchild limiter - and they work natively on Linux too :) (Watch out for V3 of the PTC-2A planned for release very soon, as a free upgrade for existing users - this will offer some general enhancements, and just make things a bit more...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I'm really glad that a native version of Reaper is finally coming to Linux, and that the development team are so responsive. Real freedom is about choice and if you don't want to install or use commercial software, you don't have to. But at least it's there if you do.

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I'm not a Reaper user... and I'm not a reaper developer, so I have no idea how it actually works... but, the screenshot looks like the font rendered at 'normal' resolution, then the resulting (bitmap) upscaled by 2X (I guess just by a bilinear interpolation). In LibreOffice writer you are actually ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

The latest beta 5.94pre6 bundles LiberationSans & LiberationMono, hopefully this will take care of the problem. That's much better thanks - I guess the default fonts combined with something about my RPi3 / HDMI / Monitor config must have reacted badly. Consider it fixed. Great to see support fo...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I'll make sure I've got the latest version - from the screenshots it looks better than what I was seeing (mainly the issue was on RPi3, and having tried a few different monitors and settings it appears to be a combination of factors, which just conspire to make the fonts reaper uses look bad. On Ubu...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

It's nearly there... Great to see not only a native linux version, but also linux compatible builds for ARM too (tried it with some of my plug-ins for RPi3 and it all seems good) @Jack Winter: Can someone please, please make the fonts better on linux as a priority ? - on RPi3 particularly for some ...

Re: Overtone AF210/M Graphical EQ & FFT Plug-in 50% Off

I'd say, ask the user for a path where to save them presets, done. No ? Which makes complete sense, but the interesting part about that is - on Linux, how best to do that? You can't necessarily just use an 'OS provided' file selector - because, you don't know what desktop / window manager / distro ...

Re: Overtone AF210/M Graphical EQ & FFT Plug-in 50% Off

There are 4 user slots. How are presets saved into them to be recalled in other sessions That depends upon your host application - most host applications should provide a means to export a plug-in's preset settings. The plug-in itself does not provide its own preset management system (other than th...
