Very nice and cool production, Glen - congrats to everyone involved, and of course a big thanks for your work on AVLinux!

Re: Collaborations

Hi Al, no problem - you don't have to like the same stuff which I like, and you also don't have to agree with Wikiloops and their policies. However, I see lots of people who really like it - there are quotes at the bottom of each page, which are rotated randomly, and which just cite what people like...

Re: Collaborations

Thanks folderol! And yes, I was totally astonished myself by the quality level in Wikiloops - after all this is some place to just "jam" with others, but some of these really sound like big commercial productions. I'm a bit rusted because with about 25 or so I gave up playing, and only sta...

Re: Collaborations

I understand your point, Al. And I think it's not forbidden to make money over there, and those 'perpetual' and 'universal' rights have to be understood - if you would for instance store one contribution of mine on your hard disks, and I and Richard agree that I'm out, and that all my content is to ...

Re: Collaborations

So much good music. Great! Thanks BB! There aren't that many singing in German (one Uloisius, one AKchen, another one whose name doesn't come up my mind right now, but that's pretty much it) - so if you care for some collaborations (jams), come and join us as well. In case you want to make money on...

Collaborations

Hi all, I just published my first album "Collaborations" on Wikiloops.com, where you can listen to it and from where you can also download it. I played everything on my Squier VM Precision Fretless Bass into a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 (2nd gen) interface which is connected to my self-built m...

Re: Südwestlicht: Der Sprung

song has now -10.8 LUFS (that should be a sane maximum for non-hiphop, non-dubstep) Sorry, I may be old-fashioned, but for my taste that is way over the top already. I don't agree with others about louder=better, in fact I think that is just a fad which hopefully passes sooner than later. But that'...

my first collab in the loops...

Hi there fellow Linux musicians, I've just uploaded my first jam track back onto Wikiloops, from where I've got the template. My bass was played directly into the Focusrite 6i6 2nd gen interface, and recorded and mixed using Ardour on Debian stable with additional KXStudio repos. Exported and conver...

Re: Who uses jammr.net ?

Making cash out of other folks creativity... As far as I understood it, there are free downloads if you just wait. I think it was 5 days or so. And yes, they 'encourage' people to pay, but then again, it's a small fee like 5€/month - that's more or less money needed to keep a server like that runni...

Re: Who uses jammr.net ?

I'm thinking about starting with http://www.wikiloops.com Thanks 42low, for that good tip! I just joined there a few days ago, got a free upgrade for a month because I helped the site owner with some bug, and discovered lots of really good musicians there already. I mean, just listen to something l...

Re: studio monitors

Heard the Yamahas at Music Store in Cologne, and at Session Music, Frankfurt, Germany - and they're good. I would buy them.
