Re: brush kit for Hydrogen?

Hmmm - I looked again, and there seem to be some. Haven't tried them yet, maybe you can report about them?

Re: brush kit for Hydrogen?

Good question - I'm interested in that as well, but also couldn't find any.

Re: Korg NanoKEY Studio compatible w/Ubuntu-based distros?

Curious, do you remember what magazine that was that had that article? I'd like to check that out. (I actually discovered Linux audio from Computer Music Magazine some years ago). That was the German "Keys" of 04/2017. If you can read German, you can get it here: https://www.ppvmedien.de/Keys-Ausga...

Re: Can't install JACK on Debian Testing

I'm pretty sure that Stretch is not released yet. And when it will, I will continue to use Testing because I like newer version of packages. Especially I'm waiting for GCC 7 with its great C++17 support. Well, I'm with falkTX here - as a Debian user, you know that 'testing' and 'unstable' always ha...

Re: Can't install JACK on Debian Testing

Hmmm, you are right - it doesn't seem to be in the Stretch repos. However, you can get it from Sid: https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=libreadline&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all AFAIK, AVLinux (which is based on Stretch) just brought out their newest version, so I guess you could also...

Re: Korg NanoKEY Studio compatible w/Ubuntu-based distros?

You should try before you buy, if you have the chance (I have a business notebook with Ubuntu on it, so I could if I'd go shopping). Another reason to try: I've been in a huge music store in Cologne, Germany the week before Easter, and of course I couldn't let my hands off of all the nice instrument...

Re: Sound sytem troubles HELP NEEDED

Hi again Tom, forgot to add a few links which probably could help: Stefano has a very good explanation of what he calls "The Linux Audio Anatomy" on his crocoduck's pond blog at https://thecrocoduckspond.wordpress.com/2016/11/19/the-linux-audio-anatomy/ . The AVLinux User Guide for the latest versio...

Re: Sound sytem troubles HELP NEEDED

Tom, I have it like this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2860/33967026182_f780feeb5d_o_d.png After testing that everything works, including the pulseaudio-jack bridge, just set these two checkboxes, and everything will connect within a second or two after you log in. Oh, and according to your first s...

Re: My First Song

Nice one Luis! And your story reads a bit like mine - tho I'm the bass guy, and a bit older. But also Focusrite (6i6 2nd), Debian (stable), Ardour, some samples in Qsampler, and so on... But since I currently only have a cheap classical (nylon) guitar, I'm mostly recording our 12-year-old daughter, ...

Re: Transition to UbuntuStudio 16.04 problem with Scarlett 18i20

It is true for me, that I don't use any Microsoft products, not ever. Mac is the same, although for different reasons, the expense of Mac is beyond my reach. Same here Tom - except that I'm still working in IT, and so I have to support customers who run Microsoft and sometimes even Apple stuff. In ...

Re: Transition to UbuntuStudio 16.04 problem with Scarlett 18i20

Hi Tom, sorry for my unclear explanations - I'm not a native English or American English speaker. Let me try again: - In Microsoft Windows, and in Mac OSX you have software from Focusright which you can download for free after registering your device with them online, and after setting up an account...

Re: Transition to UbuntuStudio 16.04 problem with Scarlett 18i20

Hi again Tom, I'm home now. Just tried it, and it works - both with normal alsa/pulseaudio (tested with Firefox and a Youtube video), and with Jack (tested with the 'jazzy' demo contained in Hydrogen, which autoconnected itself within qjackctl): https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3880/32651829584_6bacdfd...

Hi from Germany

Hi all, new user here - not so new to Linux, or to music (since I've just turned 60). But ok - since music "rested" a few years, I'm pretty new to the "make music with Linux" stuff. I'm on Debian 8, using Ardour with a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 2nd gen interface - which works fine out of the proverbial...

Re: Transition to UbuntuStudio 16.04 problem with Scarlett 18i20

Hi Tom, I have a Scarlett 6i6 2nd gen only, but that works perfectly under Debian 8 (Jessie, the current stable release). I can try with an Ubuntu Studio 16.04.2 Live image later when I'll get home, will let you know if it works also. One suggestion/hint: have you tried the included mixer with a Win...
