unable to use midi keyboard in MusE
I have installed MusE 3.2.2 on Ubuntu Studio 20.04. I have a history of success making mid connections using jack-Alsa with Yoshimi, Qsynth and others. My only problem at the moment is that I am unable to record midi in the MusE piano roll. I saw the "midi input" button. It did not help. Q...

Re: MusE 3.1.1 released
I am so happy to see that MusE is still being updated! I have just installed Ubuntu Studio 20.04, and Muse 3.0.2 is the most recent in the repository. While I rarely install applications from source, I downloaded muse-3.1.1.tar.gz Unzipped, opened README, and, following the instructions precisely as...

Re: Audacity recording input level control
This is an old thread. Advice was given by Pablo to use the envy24control. A replacement is available that is compatible with the M Audio Audiophile 24/96 PCI card and other ICE1712 cards. https://code.google.com/archive/p/mudita24/ https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14866&p=6634...

Re: Ubuntu studio and Behringer UMC404, Jack is not my friend
Jonniejlo - Don't give up, and don't expect Jack to be your friend. Jack is a daemon, and we don't "use" Jack, we make a pact with it through its minion QjackCTL  I am having similar problems, which, as I work through this I find they are most often self inflicted. I am following this...

Re: Unable to get a response from USB interface into Ardour 6 into Ubuntu Studio 20.04
Any progress? I had a similar problem last week, just trying to get sound from a microphone, through my Usb audiovox to Skype. It turned out that there are way too many volume controls in that signal chain, and I missed one because I did not know to scroll down to the bottom of the pavucontrol windo...

Re: recording pulseaudio output
I am on the PulseAudio learning curve, but I will take a turn at it. I am an engineer, with a bunch of experience with instruments that measure analog signals. I just recently read PulseAudio under the hood which has some details such as the concepts of sinks, sources, speakers. The text tells us &q...

nikgnomicradio - Thanks for the useful input. All - While reading the advice here, and trying to work through this, I was investigating, attempting to find the manual for jackqtl. I came upon the this on page https://www.rncbc.org/drupal/node/1814 from the moment you have jackdbus rigged into the system, it just takes full control and charge of...

Is anyone using qLoud - or know a better Speaker profiler?
I am found a speaker analyser, but it seems to be out of date, and I am having trouble building it, partly because I don't know anything about qt4 and qt5, if I have them or where to get them. The latest is "v.1.2 - make building more friendly for Ubuntu " at https://www.linux-apps.com/p/1...
