Re: LSP plugins and Bitwig 2.0

Hello, I got the latest LSP plugins for this new OS (Linux Mint 17) installation, the lsp-plugins-lxvst-1.0.23-x86_64. I copied the .so files to the regular vst folder where all other plugins are but the following error is reported by Bitwig, one for each .so file: com.bitwig.flt.library.metadata.r...

Re: Which plugin formats are standard in linux today?

It's not all doom and gloom though. Your plugin GUI's look pretty good, it's just that the gtk conflicts with some hosts. Linux Reaper with a GDK3 compiled libswell.so crashes when the lsp vst plugins are used and Linux Reaper with a GDK2 compiled libswell.so acts strangely when the lsp vst plugins...

Re: Which plugin formats are standard in linux today?

Also it has some bugs that probably won't be solved for a long time.. @sadko4u: I think your approach is wrong. You are trying to force GTK into the JUCE framework, and, whether you perceive that as a 'bug' in JUCE or not, you are going to have problems further down the line, even if you get over t...

Re: Reaktor 6, wine?

Reaktor 6 probably needs a few dll overrides depending on the version https://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/config-wine-main For the latest Reactor version, msvcp140.dll with Wine 2.8 and probably more dll overrides with earlier versions of Wine (concrt140.dll msvcp140.dll). Reactor 6.0.1 probab...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

can anyone tell me what is going on here? the first few releases of Reaper worked on my Arch64 but as of the past 5 releases, I would not launch. I get this message: $ reaper5 no message buffer overruns Segmentation fault (core dumped) [harv@ROCKBOX ~]$ reaper5 AudioResampler::Register(..., FFmpeg)...

Re: Tracktion-on-Linux - jotting some notes down

Whether they implemented plugin sandboxing with Linux Tracktion T6, I don't know. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=420917 Bridged and wine-dependent plugins are frequently unstable or unusable and Tracktion doesn't sandbox plugins yet so badly behaved plugins can crash the who...

Re: Tracktion-on-Linux - jotting some notes down

I've had the Carla vst freeze as well. I think I got around it by compiling the Carla vst on my system for my system. It seems that the Carla binaries (from the kxstudio website) might have some problems with some distro's maybe due to some libraries or whatever. For a user with limited compiling ex...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

If anyone is interested in how I got the 5.6 version of Kontakt player to work then I could not replicate your success with either Kontakt 5.5.2 or 5.6.6 on Ubuntu Xenial + KXStudio. Are you able to run Kontakt standalone? Which wine version are you using (KXStudio provides 1.8 )? Which Windows ver...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I tried the latest Linux reaper dev release yesterday. The U-he plugins UIs still don't work (at least Zebra(lette) and Podolski don't work yet) but Loomer's Aspect does work now, GUI included! :) Yes, I'm aware of the hack osxmidi created to allow more plugin UIs to work but I'm holding on for stu...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

New 535 version is out (and libswell as well). libswell might need to be compiled for someones individual system, but in most cases it should be ok. If anyone doesn't know, Linux Reaper doesn't autoconnect to Jack inputs and outputs, so something like QJackCtl connections needs to be used to connect...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Lol, Let me get this straight... You guys are NOT using the Windows version of Reaper so you can use Carla to run WindowsVST's on the Linux version of Reaper... when the Windows version of reaper runs just fine in Wine...? BTW I don't know what the expected behavior of the panning knobs is, t...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Thanks for sharing the details! Did you discover these from error messages? Log files? Windows installer logs? Reading 'between the lines'? Programming knowledge? Any user level methods used would be nice wiki fodder. Cheers Well, I am a programmer but this is mostly about dealing with Wine and usi...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

If anyone is interested in how I got the 5.6 version of Kontakt player to work then I had to get 64bit dlls from dll files msvcp140.dll concrt140.dll api-ms-win-crt-time-l1-1-0.dll api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll ucrtbase.dll and copy the dll's to the system32 directory and configure them to be na...
