Re: Assembling a dedicated computer to produce goood music

Some people report problems with AMD Hardware and audio work. I find that more audio tracks, FX and virtual instruments seem possible since I switched from AMD to Intel. There are users that are very happy with AMD-PCs, so it's probably hit and miss. I currently use a laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo P8...

Re: Assembling a dedicated computer to produce goood music

Try to get an Intel processor with at least 5000 pts on cpubenchmark.net and at least 8 gb ram. That should do the trick. Usually PCs like that are available on the 2nd hand market for around 100 dollars/euros. And then also try av-Linux: it's faster because it's based on debian not Ubuntu

Boss Micro BR-80

Hi everyone!

Has anybody managed to get this device working as a Linux soundcard? It's being recognised and displayed but neither jack nor ALSA seem to be able to use it.

Cheers, Ben

Re: lend me your ears

Great music, love it! Good mix too! One thing I noticed: the midi drums sound awesome but when you're hitting a single drum repeatedly (especially the snare drum) you can hear it's the same sample. Try and vary the velocity because for example avl drum kits have about 5 velocity layers so if hit 1 i...

Hi Andreas Ruge,

just wanted to say thank you for your awesome piece of software! Just made my first DDP and sent it off to the CD plant. I hope it works;)

Cheers!

Easy-NY

Hi everyone, is there an lv2/LinuxDSP that can do parallel compression in one plugin (not needing an extra bus)?
In my Windows days I've used EasyNY all the time because it makes parallel compression sooo much easier to setup.

Re: Easter Instrumental Post-Rock/Trip-Hop

Thank you for taking a listen! Guitar sound is often having 2 Amp Sims in series (for example Boss ME-25-Pedal on the input and then gx-chump in ardour) and of course having the guitar in good shape;)
