Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Thank you neilnardlenoo! I think I'm not quite ready yet to work on these files myself. My current "strategy": i've installed a double boot with Ubuntu studio 12.04 which supports the device. Not very elegant but my hope would be to kick it out as soon as the kernel is ready again for the ...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Compiling stuff from source code is not for the faint of heart. It requires a lot of experience and patience. Another fact that doesn't help is that your error messages are in German instead of English, I'm sorry... Thank you Linuxmusician01! I just went on according to the description ignoring the...

Re: Album Flowers made in debian stretch and Ardour

Very nice sounds! Wrong category though - should be moved to "Original scores and recordings"

Re: How to reach public?

I think it's also important to find your niche. The smaller the better. It's probably much easier to be the best and most famous country band in Belgium than to be one of 5000 country bands in Nashville. Or maybe be the number one christian rock band in Cuba or the most famous metal band in the Vati...

Re: Pop Album mixed in Linux

Thank you Glen! the recordings were great so it was easy and fun to work with them! Haven't heard of Tegan & Sara, will check them out;) Hi singforme, Very impressive job! The production is top-notch! Reminds me a little bit of Tegan & Sara (Canadian sister band). Very well done and really i...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Thank you Drumfix, that was helpful! *wink* I'm stuck again though a bit further down the line: root@microlab:/home/benjamin/linux-4.11.6# make O=../build modules SUBDIRS=soundmake[1]: Verzeichnis „/home/benjamin/build“ wird betreten arch/x86/Makefile:136: CONFIG_X86_X32 enabled but no binutils supp...

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

neilnardlenoo

that sounds interesting! Unfortunately it's not possible to have an ancient Kernel like 3.9 on a recent installation as a boot option. Maybe it's really the midi. I'm not sure how to make use of BR-80s MIDI though... Let me know when you've had success with this!

Re: Advice: best budget headphones

You could try the hd 681 Evo from Amazon and send it back if you don't like it. I think with headphones for mixing the main thing is not the price point, but the "realism" of the frequency response. Neutral is your friend;)

Re: Boss Micro BR-80

Hi, I tried to follow this guide, http://org0ne.livejournal.com/29979.html when I get to the following point I get an error: root@microlab:/home/benjamin# make O=../build oldconfig make: *** Keine Regel, um „oldconfig“ zu erstellen. Schluss. "No Rule to create "oldconfig". End." ...

Re: Video Editing in Linux

I think it's a bit sad that developers of Kdenlive / Openshot / Pitivi / Cinelerra / Flowblade / Shotcut / VLMC etc. all do their own thing. If they could all contribute to the same project, it would probably be up there with Vegas / Avid / etc. Just like Ardour doesn't really have a non-commercial ...

Re: Video Editing in Linux

Thank you Glen, this sounds really promising! I will have to give it another shot then! BTW: really cool blues music you guys make! Just one more question: Which Cinelerra Version should I use: Are there three versions now?

Re: Video Editing in Linux

I'm glad I'm not in the nVidia world then;) I always end up with kdenlive. I started out years ago on Cinelerra but it was slow and I never really got into a satisfying workflor. Do you have an idea how it handles multi-thread cpus? Hi, I think we have some 'extra' problems in Linux that complicate ...
