Re: Creating custom DG kits?

The samples for the instruments should all be the same across the kit, since resampling is only applied to the output channels for performance reasons (otherwise resampling would have to be done in real-time in something like 10.000 audiofiles which is not really feasible). You can chose to ignore t...

Re: Velocity curve per instrument

I'm afraid it a bit more complicated than that. Each time a new drumkit is loaded a new set of instruments is defined from it so the lists of instruments and their respective curves would have to somehow be stored in a drumkit-specific way and dynamically assigned in the UI. Simply resetting them ea...

Re: Velocity curve per instrument

It is actually a limitation in the UI, since having a "per instrument" settings, like what you suggest, will require a complete overhaul of the way the UI is organised.
The engine is capable of using per-instrument curves, there is currently just no way of telling it how :/

Re: Convert midi CC event to notes

Yes, please, that would be really helpful. Especially if it also uses the CCs to control the popping?

Re: Contributing code changes to DrumGizmo

Given that the project is using Github, it would seem sensible to "lean into" the paradigm there, encouraging pull requests. DrumGizmo is not using github so that doesn't make much sense. Sorry. I run the entire pipeline locally (at drumgizmo.org) and have many similar requirements as the...

Re: Contributing code changes to DrumGizmo

If you would like to do more than just a patch I would be happy to add you as a contributor to the git project. Alternatively you could do a clone on github and commit your changes to a branch there which I can then integrate upstream when they are done. Simply emailing a patch file could also work,...

Re: DrumGizmo crashes after loading CrocelKit

I'm not sure it can work directly in Muse. But just seeing if it crashes might tell us something useful about where the problem resides :-)

Re: DrumGizmo crashes after loading CrocelKit

DrumGizmo does not store anything "system globally" only per session state, so one broken session should not be able to break others as you describe. Personally I use Ardour to host the plugin, but Reaper can also be used. You could perhaps try one of these, just to see if they work or are...

Re: DrumGizmo crashes after loading CrocelKit

My first thought would be an "out of memory" error perhaps? How much memory does you system have? And did you set the memory limit to "infinite" in DrumGizmo? Are you able to load any of the other drumkits? or is it only relating the the CrocellKit? Off-topic: Crocell, whos kit w...

Good catch! Thanks for pointing it out :-)
Your suggested fix seems sound. I will add that to the develop branch. Who should I attribute the change to?

Re: Convert midi CC event to notes

As for cymbal chokes: Those are done using Polyphonic Aftertouch (same note as the cymbal that's hit), decreasing velocity. I don't see how this can be mapped, and drumgizmo would need to directly support that (probably cross-fade to the choked cymbal sound). Actually cymbal chokes are already supp...

Re: Convert midi CC event to notes

I think I have an idea for how to make it work "inside" drumgizmo, but this will require changes to the drumkit files for indicating whih samples are part of a "hihat" group along some kind of "openness" parameter. I will see if I can find some time to look at it in the...
