Re: About failing test in tar-ball because of missing wav files...

Algorithmically generating the test wav files is a brilliant idea. They don't have to sound anything like a drum, just be there and contain samples with varying values.
A simple white-noise generator should do the trick.

About failing test in tar-ball because of missing wav files...

Currently the unit tests (make check) cannot be performed when running from the tar-ball source tree. The reason is that the test folder in the git tree contains a lot wav files used by the tests and these files are not (yet) included in the tarball. The question is: Do we even want to include these...

DrumGizmo version 0.9.11 now available!

Get it at http://www.drumgizmo.org/ DrumGizmo is an open source, multichannel, multilayered, cross-platform drum plugin and stand-alone application. It enables you to compose drums in midi and mix them with a multichannel approach. It is comparable to that of mixing a real drumkit that has been reco...

Re: 0.9.11 plan

The win32 Events are stored as shared_ptr inside the vector so I think it should work as intended.

Returning a copy of the object will destroy the polymorphic type so that won't work out-of-the-box. But something like that would definitely be nice.
Perhaps a single event type with a union inside?

Re: 0.9.11 plan

The underlying APIs are vastly different so this was the most intuitive way to make it.
I think we should do a more thorough redesign when we start implementing the MacOSX backend and leave it with shared_ptr for now?

Re: bug#1: [EngineFactory] Unsupported input engine 'test'

Aah... I just realised that our last release indeed didn't enable the test input module.
It has been fixed in git for some time and will be included in the 0.9.11 release.

Re: 0.9.11 plan

The trouble with the unique_ptr as with the raw pointer is that the nativewindow_win32 version of peek returns the front pointer in a vector without popping it. The unique_ptr would delete it after the peek event goes out of scope rendering the raw pointer in the vector dangling. ... or did I misund...

Re: bug#1: [EngineFactory] Unsupported input engine 'test'

It works just fine here...

The test input engine is not for make check but rather for generating randomized notes when testing a new drumkit or if you want to benchmark test your system.

I am not sure why the user cannot use it? Was configure perhaps run with "--disable_input_test"?

Re: 0.9.11 plan

I went with the fourth option std::shared_ptr ;-)
It should be fixed in the most recent jenkins build.

Re: 0.9.11 plan

I have found the error but not yet a good way to solve it. http://cgit.drumgizmo.org/drumgizmo/commit/plugingui/eventhandler.cc?id=5ac122d18820010471eb630a0dfa1e399456cc4e This commit adds deleting of peek event (ie. events returned by peekNextEvent) as this is needed for the x11 implementation. On ...

Re: Status of DG Edit?

The editor hasn't changed since we made the presentation at lac2014.
It's development is currently frozen because we want to change the drumkit format a bit in the engine and then after that continue development on the editor to reflect those changes.

We could go for the pragmatic solution, and simply prefix our topics with "[dev]" if they are developer related?

Re: 0.9.11 plan

I'm thinking we should just release what we have now and push the remaining tasks (there are 2) to the next release.
