Re: Drumgizmo still alive?

I'm still here, just not investing much time in the project at the moment.
For the time being, the website is kept running, and a minimum of support is done on this forum.
I hope to be able to pick up development again at some point, but right now other things are occupying my time :-)

Thanks for the explanation, as well as for the musical insights!

I also just found this talk from which I clipped the relevant 30 seconds:

You're most welcome - and glad you found the video, that's me btw :-D

Re: DRSKit: kdrum_with_contac vs kdrum_without_contac

I agree that the naming is a bit confusing. Sorry about that :) Contact means that the beater rests on the batter-head and no-contact means that the beater bounces off the batter-head and immediately bounces away. The beater is a felt beater, so when resting on the batter-head it slightly muffles th...

Re: Community feed-back for "compound instrument" feature needed!

Distributing multi-channel kits to stereo could probably also be done with this. Making it possible to pan each of the mono channels on the multi-channel kit to L/R and set the volume. This would be a crude way to make a stereo mapping for a multi-channel kit (there would no other processing such as...

Re: Can someone check this for me?

Thanks. I didn't see it in Ardour, possibly because I do one track for the drums for easier programming. I may try doing one track per drum, but I want to do several drums in the initial pass. I may split them into separate tracks later, but my brain has me doing close to what I would do if I had a...

Re: Can someone check this for me?

In Ardour you can actually see it on the piano-roll in the midi-track if you make the tracks height big enough.

Re: DrumGizmo 0.9.19 Released!

Can you open any other plugins' custom UIs or is it just DrumGizmo?
If not; did you compile Ardour with libsuil? This is required to show custom plugin UIs.

Re: DrumGizmo 0.9.19 Released!

0.9.19 is really old. Have you tried with the latest 0.9.20 release? Or perhaps even the most recent development version form git?

Re: Community feed-back for "compound instrument" feature needed!

That could be used to double kick with another kick (or same kick with pitched down) to get fatter sound. So basically the opportunity to play two instruments at the same time. Would something like "offset" be interesting for this? I mean, for example, play two kick samples on top of each...

Community feed-back for "compound instrument" feature needed!

We ( corrados , chaot4 , NarcoticV and myself) have for a while now (years actually) been working on new features specifically for improved support for midi eDrumkits. The idea for a generalized compound instrument has come up as a solution to many of these new features (thanks NarcoticV ;-) ) that ...

That sounds like a good approach, I will give it a shot. And rebasing the distance branch would be helpful, thanks!

The rebased distance branch is now on the server :-)

Re: Convert midi CC event to notes

I think the position branch needs rebasing before you should start working on top of it. I can do that, force push it, and tell you when it is ready. And it is really great that you want to contribute to the project :-) As for the position, it simply defaults to 0 (center) if not controlled by the m...

Re: Convert midi CC event to notes

I had a look at the "distance" branch which has the position CC changes. Seems like this has a lot of overlap with what could be done for hi-hat openness. It adds an extra dimension to the sample selection algorithm, just like what would be needed for openness. To me it even seems a bit o...

Re: Creating custom DG kits?

So MY scenario is the opposite of what you describe...can I ignore the suggested re-sample and just let Ardour play the samples at their sampled rate, despite being different than the session's sample rate? And if I can, how will DG react when the Crocell kit is playing 48Khz samples, but copied DR...
