Re: New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0

DANGER! I was experimenting with decay and wander turned all the way up, and got a blast of noise. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but there is some weird random noise that consistently happens with wander turned up, regardless of the decay setting. Anybody testing this out, beware. Also, I hav...

Re: New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0

I've downloaded this but all I got are the Hall and room versions. After reading this, I checked DragonflyReverb-Linux-64bit-v2.9.0-beta.tgz, and verified that it contains DragonflyPlateReverb-vst.so and DragonflyPlateReverb.lv2 ... Are you saying that your plugin host doesn't list the plate? What ...

I didn't think early reflections were relevant in a plate reverb. I suppose I could drop in the same ER algorithm that is used in the Room and Hall plugins.

Re: New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0

Did you think about having them both? I know it's not a simple task to get it all together, but switching the algorithm depending on what you want would be neat, just like it is in Valhalla reverbs. Are you thinking both in the same plugin? I considered that a little bit. Dragonfly Hall and Room bo...

Re: sfizz

Slight diversion. What's the position with sf2 these days? sf2 isn't nearly as rich in features as sfz, for example I think it doesn't support round-robin, but there are plenty of nice-sounding sf2 instruments out there. Sfizz doesn't support sf2, it is only for sfz instruments. Seems like fluidsyn...

Re: New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0

Linux need another plate verb done right. Looking forward to giving this a thonk. Please do tell, what do you want in a plate reverb? Freeverb3 actually has more than one plate algorithm; I picked one called STRev because it seemed to have more interesting parameters. Here's the documentation for S...

Re: what are some recommended plugins for Ardour and Guitar?

I don't even know how addons are added to it. Download LV2 and/or VST plugins. Make two hidden folders under your home folder called ".vst" and ".lv2" (if you're new to Linux file conventions, you need to know that the dot prefix indicates a hidden folder). Put your plugins in their respective fold...

New Dragonfly Reverb beta release v2.9.0

I know, the world probably doesn't need yet another plate reverb... ...BUT WHEN DID A SUPERVILLAIN EVER CARE ABOUT WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS? Mwahahaha! https://raw.githubusercontent.com/michaelwillis/dragonfly-reverb/master/dragonfly-plate-screenshot.png Please download the beta release, test it, and le...

Re: sfizz

The author of sfizz just made a 0.2.0 release. Download the tar.gz file, open it up, and you will find both a standalone JACK program (bin -> sfizz_jack) and an LV2 plugin (lib -> lv2 -> sfizz.lv2).

Yes, even an emphatic yes. I've been using sfizz for a few weeks now. It has completely replaced LinuxSampler for me, and sfzero never really worked well for my purposes because of its spotty coverage of sfz opcodes.

Re: How to get Ardour to work with my rig?

ok, rebooted, getting audio from spotify while playing and using jack in Ardour, however, spotify not being seen by Ardour yet. I may have to do something else, maybe a connection thing. I doubt that spotify will show up as an audio source in Ardour. If you find a way to do it, I would love to hear...

Re: virtual-playing-orchstra with Ardour on Ubuntu Studio 19.10

Good morning... Let's double check your files to make sure they are in the correct locations. Here are two example files where you should find them: /opt/Virtual-Playing-Orchestra3/Woodwinds/flute-SOLO-PERF.sfz /opt/Virtual-Playing-Orchestra3/libs/VSCO2-CE/Woodwinds/Flute/susvib-PB/LDFlute_susvib_A...

Re: virtual-playing-orchstra with Ardour on Ubuntu Studio 19.10

But if i have understood everything correctly, there should be the correct file to the SFZ-File included in the PI? If if i double click the sfizz-PI der directory to the SFZ-File is linked only to the HOME-Directory? Is this correct? Do i have to edit this path in each Instrument? Hmm. Yes, the sf...

Ok, i've tried it again and found another error. git checkout develop ==> error-message "no git-repository (or any parentdirectory): .git Oh, right! You have to cd into the project directory before checking out the develop branch. git clone --recursive https://github.com/sfztools/sfizz.git cd sfizz...
