Re: Promises

Thanks ! Basslint The echoed piano starts with a piano from the pianoteq Linux plugin, then EQed to make it cripser and at the same time to soften the attack, then going through a delay. Yeah, the heavy guitar is fun. jdfight The saxophone parts are also the anchor point for me. It turned out not th...

Re: which song is coming out of your speakers right now, the sequel

Ozrics Tentacles' " Technicians of the Sacred 2015" album. To quote the very first comment: "This album is beyond kick ass." And indeed it is. This is the double album they did after their house burned down in Colorado fires. Such instrumental, spacey and groovy music. Really nic...

Re: Imago Dei

This is a great piece on all accounts ! Mix, 'spirit', instruments, voice, etc. Very well done and expressed.

Cheers.

Re: Promises

New mix, same link as above. This time I think I got it nailed down pretty much.

Referring to the distorted guitar in the middle section I added the following in the description: "Are promises hammering at your door ?". Which segues into the voice heard right after that.

Re: Snötäckta fält (snow covered fields)

In some regions there's already a lot less snow than years before. Never saw again since my youth a snow fall that would reach the roof of a single story house and where some would use snowmobiles on regular streets. Those days are gone. In those days we used to jump from a second story balcony into...

Re: Promises

Full disclosure, it didn't grab me for the first minute or so, so I switched to another tab. But for some reason left it running. All of a sudden I found myself grooving to it. It was better and better further into the piece. Neat ! I sort of pictured it as background music to some detective story ...

Promises

This is a synth piece. I find that the ride cymbals might be a bit too loud. I do not know in which genre this can be, so no, no tags to offer apart from 'electronic' eg. synth based. As for synths, there are some u-he synths for Linux, Bazille, Zebra, Dark Zebra and Diva for all the warmness, while...

I'll just note that your "Backstage Humor Thread", which you cite as an example of you engaging in humor, contains no original content whatsoever. It's merely you posting links to other peoples' creative works. That's like someone claiming to be a great composer because) he listened to a ...

Re: Manouri

I like the feel and mood of this piece a lot. It is very relaxing. The "breathing" synth is really a cool idea, and very effective. I think the two parts of the song are not glued together very tightly, and feel like separate pieces rather than one song. The brief coda at the end does hel...

Re: Manouri

I do like the vibe of this one and it opens in a very interesting and appealing way, I did feel that when the guitar came in it became a little rhythmically awkward like something in the drum track became a little out of sync or something...? I liked the synth parts and I liked what you were doing ...

It's actually not funny at all. It has a sense of moth'balls' to it. OTOH, I think you were honest when you first mentioned stress relief.

Re: Moderation on linuxmusicians.com?

It's not a matter of politeness. It's more a matter that the natural human inclination is to want to "have fun" and "enjoy life", especially during stressful times. People need "stress release valves". No one is going to use a family funeral for that. But a bulletin bo...
