Re: Ardour 5

No, I mentioned those because they are very popular, and I don't believe that most of them have a very simple interface. Not that I have seem many. I saw/listened to a few on YouTube and didn't like their sound. They seem to be more targeted at acid house or pinball machine music producers, if you ...

Re: Ardour 5

You think that Zynaddsubfx is more complex than ridiculously popular u-He or Rob Papen stuff? That doesn't make any sense. Have you per chance mistaken Zynaddsubfx for something else? Are you mentionning Rob Papen because these synths are available for Linux ? I'm asking because all u-he synths are...

Re: Ardour 5

I remember when I was a very fresh beginner with Linux music stuff, only 2 years ago, I was confused by several things including JACK, but I got along with Zynaddsubfx very well in under 15 minutes. I would say that it's maybe a little ugly compared to the commercial stuff, but not complex. The new...

Re: Ardour 5

Not sure why one or the other, both are actively maintained. I had the impression zyn was no longer developed. Which is not the case. I actually tried it and like the sounds, especially the Italian ones. But it does interfere with Ardour (Mixbus 32C) so I am not certain for its constant use. Zyn is...

You think that Zynaddsubfx is more complex than ridiculously popular u-He or Rob Papen stuff? That doesn't make any sense. Have you per chance mistaken Zynaddsubfx for something else? First of all, I did make a note to revisit Yoshimi (probably, instead of Zynaddsubfx) soon. From last time (years a...

Re: Augenleuchten

Aspecialy this one was one i should have known. Because this one for me often is the reason to use some slight distortion or reverb to make a played session smother than i actualy realy can, or to cover up some played 'mistakes' when playing the guitar (like bad hit snair of horrible put down...

Re: Augenleuchten

Just a question out of couriosity. No critic or discussion. Is this a problem? I find it sounding great. Should it then be like 'regular' and not may be a bit different then normal? Or is there a technical argument for that statement that i overlook? When audio events are grouped together they offe...

Re: Augenleuchten

The waves' picture depends on the arrangement. I have some stops/breaks, so there are some "holes". Furthermore, many commercial productions are compressed much more than mine. They're not even afraid of hard clipping to make the song louder. I don't go this far. I try to get a balanced m...

Re: Augenleuchten

In Master-Out I am working with CALF EQ, CALF multiband compressor, CALF saturator and CALF multiband limiter to get the same richtness as with Jamin in the earlier songs. The integrated mastering tool Jamin was ahead of its time, I think. Kudos to the coders. And of course to the CALF team as well...

Re: Augenleuchten

Thx. The Triangle is very tricky to mix because of its high frequency range. In my headphones it tends to be too loud, with HiFi or car speakers it tends to be too low. Not easy. When converting from mp3 to wav to make a CD for the car, I noticed that the waves in general are certainly not like reg...

Re: Augenleuchten

When it is said that it's "affengeile" then I must take a listen ! It has everything, the Formula is there. "Alles was du willst" is quite good too, notwithstanding the triangle which ought to go away. Good singer. The guy's not bad either. :) Ach, the triangle comes back ln &quo...

Re: Ardour 5

Harrison is promoting open source while still being able to run a business. You're saying this like it's impossible to run business using only free software. Why would Harrison give away their printed circuit boards that made them so popular in the mixing consoles world (Paul Simon, M. Jackson. Sup...

How foolish - jam12

This is as much as a live take can be. No mixing, no making things prettier, no artistic afterthoughts (which are nice on their own). This is raw from Bitwig, imported into Mixbus 32C without further ado. Get your dose of carotene form here (and spelling errors). Enjoy. Possibly loud. https://soundc...

jam35: Electronic Space Folk

This piece is built around an acoustic guitar improvisation laid over a drum riff. Various sounds swishes around amongst phaser cymbals while a lead ethnic synth of future tribal times tells a story of not so quiet times floating over a loose and dirty bass. Enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/nominal6/ja...

jam22 : electronica

This one is a "one synth" type of thing, although with some drums and percussion. It features a theme followed by two solos. A total improvisation done rather quickly although some time was spent mixing it, with several iterations evaluated over 2 weeks. The synth is u-he's Hive. I yet do ...
