Re: AV Linux MX-21 Edition install stuck at 94%
Do you have it directly connected to the computer or via an USB hub? I installed MXLinux yesterday and it only took 2 minutes or so. There's also a MD5 check when you boot AVlinux that you can activate under the Advance menu. Maybe try a different USB port or even an USB 2.0 port if you still have o...

Re: Setting up PulseAudio -> Jack Bridge in MXLinux
I don't know why, but it's working now! I think it has to be changed under "Playblack" (and not under "Output Devices") https://imgur.com/pgphdpj.png the default sink file in .config/pulse contains: alsa_output.usb-BEHRINGER_UMC204HD_192k-00.analog-surround-40 I deleted all the f...

Re: Setting up PulseAudio -> Jack Bridge in MXLinux
I deleted the default.pa in /.config/pulse again. Logged out and back in and now everything is running as expected (pulseaudio-module-jack must be installed). In QJackctl one has to enable the option Enable Jack D-Bus Interface. When I start Jack now from QJackct I see the pulse sinks in Raysession ...

Re: Building RaySession fails on MXLinux / Debian
I also installed all dependencies. The folder HoustonPatchbay is empty, so maybe that's the problem. Shouldn't make directly find the Makefile? You should clone it with the submodules, like this: git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/Houston4444/RaySession.git Thanks, that worked. I als...

Re: Setting up PulseAudio -> Jack Bridge in MXLinux
yeah, that was absolutly not my point. My point is, that from my view here, pipewire seems so much more advanced then pulse audio, that it is clear for me, that you want to ride a dead horse. Take the long way home Maybe read this: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=71995&hilit=pipewire ...

Re: Setting up PulseAudio -> Jack Bridge in MXLinux
[...] i only skimmed through your post, I have a narrow attention span at the moment [...] The topic starter wants to do the opposite from what you're doing/advising. You're doing: Jack --> Pulse. The TS wants Pulse --> Jack. IMHO that's not possible. As a matter of fact, pacmd set-default-sink jac...

Setting up PulseAudio -> Jack Bridge in MXLinux
I wanted to set up the Pulse2Jack bridge in MXLinux and got it working, but I wonder if this is the route to go as the descriptions here Link 1: https://github.com/jackaudio/jackaudio.github.com/wiki/WalkThrough_User_PulseOnJack and here Link 2: https://github.com/brummer10/pajackconnect is a bit un...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)
less important (except you have little RAM and work a lot with audio) 3 set your swappiness lower, i.e. to 10 Swappiness [ WARNING ] vm.swappiness is set to 60 which is too high. Set swappiness to a lower value by adding 'vm.swappiness=10' to /etc/sysctl.conf and run 'sysctl --system'. See also http...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)
Two things you should do. Should get a lot better then. 1 Edit the file limits.conf as described here: https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration#limitsconfaudioconf by adding these two lines: @audio - rtprio 90 # maximum realtime priority @audio - memlock unlimited # maximum locked-in-me...

Building RaySession fails on MXLinux / Debian
Last time I built RaySession on Manjaro without issues. Now I wanted to test it with MXLinux and what I get is: demo@mx1:~/make/raysessions/RaySession $ ll total 104K -rw-r--r-- 1 demo demo 16K Dec 27 17:55 CHANGELOG drwxr-xr-x 4 demo demo 4.0K Dec 27 17:55 client_templates -rw-r--r-- 1 demo demo 15...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)
To get some more info. What distro are you using? Are you using Jack or Alsa? Please run the realtimeconfig script as described here and post the output: https://codeberg.org/rtcqs/rtcqs From the terminal do: sudo apt install pip pip install --upgrade rtcqs then cd /home/yourusername/.local/bin ./rt...

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?
Seems my PC is still running fine. To boot MXLinux I had to set the intel_iommu=off boot option. This is plain MXLinux running from a stick after editing limits.conf and setting the CPU governor to performance. I also installed QJackctl and set realtime prios. https://imgur.com/TFtAQ1I.png with gove...

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?
I disabled threadirqs in AVLinux, but bascially the same:
The overhead peaks correlate with system activity (e.g. using Firefox with LAN, Saving screenshots, etc.).

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?
Not sure yet about the latencies, I think it comes from different output connections in Bitwig and I think this can be ignored.
