Re: Echo with low pass filter

Ok, cool. I put them all (38 in total) in ~/.vst/mda

They work in Ardour and Qtractor, but not in Reaper.

Re: The Light Years

I like the composition and the atmosphere of the song. From the start to ~4:36 it feels quite compressed and muddy (maybe some high pass filters would help?) and everything is sitting too much in the center (it almost sounds mono). At 4:36 it opens up and sounds much (!!!) better. The drums could be...

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

I checked again and I get crackling (~0.2 Hz) at 44.1 kHz with Jack, Alsa and Pulseaudio.
With 48.0 kHz I have no problems with Jack and Pulseaudio , but sporadic and less frequent crackling with Alsa.

Re: Beat making applications for Linux.

Ardour is implementing something called Beatbox in the future (Ardour 7?). Reaper offers a lot tools to make sample based beats (Sampler, Step Sequencer) and everything can be routed to own tracks. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jtNOJsAEjPE Renoise comes to my mind, Hydrogen ... Must it be open sourc...

Re: Echo with low pass filter

Do the MDA plugins (https://sourceforge.net/projects/mda-vs ... rce=navbar) run on a 64 bit system? I copied the .so files into ~/.vst but they are not detected.

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

But then the sound is coming out of my Headphone Jack on the computer not the interface, right?
I tried but it's not working, I think I'm missing something. However I'm pretty sure that it will be fine with the internal soundcard.

Re: Scion

Wow... thanks for that open discussion! You mentioned some plugins I never heard of yet. There is so much stuff to learn. I think even understanding zynfusion will take me weeks. Redux doesn't work very well here in Reaper. It's not possible to type in notes in the pattern editor with the keyboard a...

I simply exported a file done in 48khz as mp3 in Reaper and it sounds absolutely ok. What's the problem?

Re: Outlaw

I don't know about the style. I don't even know what kind of music I do. Although Mike Senior has called the latest 'left field electronica'. The mix is pretty good. The kick starting at 1:40 might take a tad too much place. A little touch of openess wouldn't harm, to make the mix feel just a bit m...

Only linux VSTs or also windows VSTs? yes.. at least during the creation/making/composition phases.. i have had lots of problems with all kinds of wrappers, so i don't use them very much - and there's so much great stuff available for linux now! the main (only?) thing i'm missing, is a proper amp/c...

Arghhh!!!!! Finally someone with the same problem    Here's an old thread: -> https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=16577 I never found any solution for this and I observed it at all Linux distributions I tried (Iso images even on different PCs, etc. etc.).
