Re: I'm trying to get the timbre of the synthesizer sounds in my favourite song

Hello there, I don't know where exactly to put this question, but I'm trying to get a grasp on a certain sound I specifically really admire. It's the 'synth bell' sound in the song 'Faces' by 'Clio' from 1985. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JenXIQazv2o I've been experimenting with certain bell sou...

Re: Which controller for Linux DAW mint

Hi I'm quite new with making music. I use Linux Mint for my daily work and I read a lot to make also music with it. I prefer electronic music like techno or acid. Therefore I checked that maybe Ardour is a good DAW for that. Now I'm looking for a good external controller like Novation or Akai or Ab...

Re: Open source Gross Beat alternative

Thanks for mentioning. Yes, B.Shapr can do the most things you can do with IL Gross Beat. Or Cableguys Shaperbox. And a lot of things you can't do with Gross Beat (or Shaperbox). And it is still growing... Thanks for developing it. I saw it in it's early life, and was "no, I dont have use for ...

Returning to old thread. I don't know if you found solution, but one idea, would BShapr be one?

Wrong answer would be 'because I can'. I can't really :-)

Real answer is 'beacause I want to try'.

Re: Raspberry PI 4 vs AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

So PI4 would be better option than old laptop(s) I have (I have also recent HW). But availability of software makes things different, no Mixbus available. Is there even arm port of Ardour?

Anyway, thanks for benchmarks!

Re: Why I can't get away from Windows (for now)

I suppose there is basic questions:
- Why you need/want to get away from windows?
- Is there need to get away fully, or is it ok to keep something still in windows?

I gave up for few weeks ago, I would need manual for understanding how to use it properly, but just for info, active discussion about it is here:

Re: VST3 support in Linux?

It's doubtful any DAW will include support for VST plugins made for a different OS. It can be enough hassle for the devs of a DAW to keep up with compatibility of plugins which are written for that OS, let alone including bridging to plugins meant for a different OS. This is mostly true, but LMMS i...

Yep, a new plugin. A phaser . There's also another new, absolutely thrilling, plugin: a tuner . In any case, looks like the phaser is at $29 and includes a free Mixbus32C. From the email: "Click the button to get your v5.3 update links AND the new XT-SP for only $29 Get It Now! https://harriso...
