Re: *Music* anyone?

Congratulations for your musical zest, keep it up! I also like the "healthy anger" that your post title transpires, I hope I still keep that kind of fire when/if I reach your age (I'm in my 44th year right now): I too feel a bit alienated sometimes among so many "techheads"; maybe this forum would ...

Re: *Music* anyone?

Wow! That was a lot of nose-grinding hard work for someone not familiar with chords, not to mention Rosegarden's behaviour sometimes. I cleaned it up quite a bit but there are still bad sounding chords in there.

*Music* anyone?

I couldn't find a forum for this basic musical scream for help as opposed to equipment or effects or techniques, so maybe a forum called *Music Theory, Sweat & Blood* could do the job? Here goes the opener. I'm 74 and working on learning my 4th song, Bright-Eyes. As usual nothing that I find on the ...

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

And, this day's you could load even guitarix as plugin into your DAW: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=18280#p91013 The advance of it is that you could play live with low latency with guitarix to create your presets (effect-stack), later you could reuse them in your DAW with higher l...

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

I've started looking at Guitarix, Rakarrack is unmaintained (done4) unless I missed something. But, Rakarrack is now maintained as set of LV2 plugins. https://github.com/ssj71/rkrlv2 They comes with the module presets from rakarrack, you could load them (most of them) into guitarix or your DAW of c...

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

Guitarix is what you want. But check out Rakarrack, too. It's definitely interesting. I've started looking at Guitarix, Rakarrack is unmaintained (done4) unless I missed something. The Linux distros are evolving so fast that any package that stops being active quickly becomes unusable. This is what...

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

Thank you everyone, it looks like I CAN do what I want to do and in THAT case I have no problem with learning a package or even paying for it.

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

You think? You'll be surprices. 8) I myself sometimes plug my guitar amp in my mixer board, en than send the sound to a track in Ardour (DAW) on which already sound effects (plugins) are active. And than the sound with effects can be monitored real-time. You can add it later. You can dele...

Re: Guitar signal software-effects post processing

Ideally not only would I see a wave editing feature but a LIVE one at that as in moving assorted effects-sliders WHILE the file is playing.

Waaaaay too much to ask I guess?

Guitar signal software-effects post processing

Sheeesh! I do't even know if that's the way to describe it. Is there any (preferably Linux) software that allows me to input a clean .WAV file and THEN transform the tone as if it had been plugged into such a stomp-box while being recorded? This could be standalone or some sort of Audacity plug-in, ...

A scale is a chord filled up with notes A chord is a scale with some notes removed Sorry for bouncing back a little late but I find the above interesting. Could you expand on it a little more? A chord being a scale with some notes removed is something I understand only to the extent that for exampl...

Guitar Rig 5 advice?

I'm casing this app for possible use. I had tried to get it running under wine before but that endeavor is on hold for now, I will try again later, maybe. This is about Gr5 (using windows 7) period. 1 Can I give Gr5 an mp3 of a guitar lead track and have it 'pretty it up'? 2 I'm trying the Demo and ...
