Re: 24/192 Music Downloads ...and why they make no sense

Better quality source signal for DSP so folks can make neat spectral remixes/mashups/booties/bastard pop/chopped and screwed/whatever? Better sounding Paulstretch! But yeah, 24/192 music downloads make no sense.. when there exists DSD !! What would interest me more though is some form of multichanne...

Re: Patroneo pattern sequencer

Not my invention, tis by nilshi, seen by me in the LAC 2018 Lightning Talks video. Turns out they were in #archlinux-proaudio and happened so say hey to me just as I was about to PKGBUILD it (their YouTube username gave them away). I only wasn't doing it right at that moment, as, in the video, they ...

Re: Moonchild23

imho, it's like half way between ebm (e.g. Nitzer Ebb) and electro-industrial (e.g. Frontline Assembly), aka "elektro". the instrumentation feels more like the former and the rhythm feels more like the latter. (re semantic fields; in the UK at least, "EBM" can used these days as a catch all for ebm ...

Re: Make "Active Topics" available in "Quick links" for unlogged in users

The options for this forum look different, Ah, then you want to click Advanced Permissions on the right hand side in the second image (for each board that you [ctrl-click] selected to edit in the menu on the previous screen. Then it pops up JS-like AJAX thinghy, you change to the Actions tab and ch...

Re: Live Keyboard rig - Carla and Jack_Mixer

Hah, yes, same problem here. Luckily it appears to be fixable with a copy paste hack. File in question is channel.py (in /usr/share/jack_mixer ) The input and output channel classes have methods to realise/instantiate the settings. Only the output realize method is missing the lines that set the mid...

Re: Live Keyboard rig - Carla and Jack_Mixer

I could troubleshoot the error it throws up. Possibly the package is available in another repository. Actually, looking at https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/Policy#session_handling_.28LASH.29 "LASH is deprecated as well as ladcca, please use ladish. liblash-compat-dev provides a dummy support...

Hope it is okay now, let me know if not. Thanks, but I'm not seeing Active Topics in the Quick Links menu or forum search when logged out. Thanks, I went through all forum categories and applied read-only permissions to guests. Did that defo include this? Screenshot of Group forum permissions.jpg I...

Re: Make "Active Topics" available in "Quick links" for unlogged in users

So it appears this function relies on the search backend, so requires "Can search the forum" permissions set for each forum via ACP > Group forum permissions > Guests > *select public forums*, Submit > Advanced permissions (for each) > Actions.

So any visitor would have search access. Hmm. Why not?

Re: Make "Active Topics" available in "Quick links" for unlogged in users

I thought it was changed already? not yet (checking with an incognito tab). if mods/admins can't be arsed, can i have permission to do it? i wouldn't fuck around now or in the future, i believe in doing the legwork/admin to create the future i wish to see, and there appears to be a natural consensu...
