Hello,
I'm looking for a GM synth but can't find any. It's just a simple one I need. Any suggestions? I use Ardour and Linux Mint with KX Studio.

Re: No sound after kernel panic
Very probably, the card is not properly connected to the PCI slot. Try removing it, clean the board connections and insert it again. Pling, that solved it! And it even solved the boot problem too :D The soundcard was not tightly connected. In the meantime I had run a hard disk diagnosis, which foun...

And here some of the sound preferences: Skærmbillede-Lydindstillinger.png Skærmbillede-Lydindstillinger-1.png Skærmbillede-Lydindstillinger-2.png My soundcard is M-Audio 2496, and I have Mudita24 installed but can't open it. Nothing happens when I click on it at Menu > Applications > Mudita24.

Hello all, ( - and hello AGAIN to some of you) I've had a lot of audio problems, and now I'm back with more.. First, I have Mint MATE and KX Studio on a 32-bit PC with a 2.80 GHz CPU. After my problems got solved everything worked fine, but a few days ago I had a kernel panic / crash. (the system ha...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
No go and make some beautiful music with the tools you've been given  I'll try :D And my 1st song I'll call "Silence is Not Golden!" Haha The X5 should have an option to 'turn local off' This will direct it's midi signals to it's midi out port, where it can reach your linu...

Re: No sound with KX Studio
Hi again, now it work! :D Don't ask me why cause I made no changes the last time the computer was turned on. But both the players and Ardour make sound now, and the tempo /pitch is also normal again. That's really weird, and I hope it will last, but both players and sequencer working simultaneously ...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
First of all, good news: IT WORKS NOW :o Since I started the computer today, both players and sequencer work, and with normal tempo and pitch! And even the cooling fan rotates steadily again. Also, the sound preferences look right again, with Jack Sink and Source as in- and output. Funny, cause I ma...

Re: No sound with KX Studio
Yes, I will try AVLinux (and should probably have done from the start, but always easy to be wise in hindsight!) Good to hear it's simpler, this splitting in Jack and Pulse must have confused quite a few other than me. But in any case I have got some new knowledge from all this, and you have ...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
Maybe check in at irc on #kxstudio or #lad. Get some live help? I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of ticking the right box. Live help might do it, but with all the strange things happening (especially the slow play speed and low pitch!) I'm afraid it must be something more fundamental. Maybe MATE ...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
The Monitor Inputs were already down, but the Monitor PCMs were up, so I've turned them down now. In the Patchbay Router, only the 4 top row items is ticked, and in Hardware Settings it's 44100 Hz, and so it is in Cadence and Ardour. But there must be a ghost in my machine, cause things change all t...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
How do you monitor? Do you have speakers or a hardware mixer attached to the M Audio card ? I have a stereo set (with two speakers) attached to the card. BTW, for the time being, it's only the tag editor Kid3 that can produce any sound (it has an inbuilt player), but unlike earlier it now plays ver...

Re: No sound with KX Studio
Some weird things happened.. After the "killall -9 jackd jackdbus" command I did the speaker-rest command but forgot the language command "export LANG=C". Then I copied "export LANG=C" but at the moment I pasted it into the terminal, a lot of other stuff appeared, incl....
