Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
Yes, I've tried two soundfonts (called "_Florestan_Basic_GM_GS.sf2" and "weedsgm_update.sf2") in Qsynth > Setup > Soundfonts. I understood them as standard SFs with 128 instruments, but to be honest I don't know, as i haven't heard anything yet. Well, actually I DO hear a tone (o...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
Another little thing.. Always, after having run a MIDI file in Rosegarden, there's no sound from ANY program until I restart the computer. I had the same problem in Windows when playing a MIDI file with Media Player, but back then it just meant that, for some reason, the volume slider went down. Now...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
Thanks for the explanation and the link, glowrak guy. folderol, yes I have tried that, but not with the output device set to Qsynth, because when I right-click on the track, choose a synth plugin #, and then click on the <no synth> button, there's no plugin options, it just says "(none)". ...

Re: No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
Hi folderol, I have done exactly as you say, including setting the audio driver back to jack, but still there's no MIDI sound. BTW, in Manage MIDI devices > MIDI Input, I can choose between "14:0 MIDI through Port-0 (duplex)" and my sound card. Which one is the right here? (if it matters o...

No MIDI sound with Rosegarden
When I start Rosegarden I get the message that "the system timer resolution is too low",and that this can be solved by running sudo modprobe snd-rtctimer in a terminal, but when I do that I get the message "modprobe: FATAL: Module snd-rtctimer not found." I've searched the net fo...

Re: MP3 tag lyrics
Still no plugins.
88 sudo apt-get remove audacious-plugins
89 sudo apt-get install audacious-plugins
90 history
But never mind. My first wish is to get the general viewing tool Markus talked about installed. That way I won't have to open a player first to see the MP3 tags.

Re: MP3 tag lyrics
Hi Luc, thanks very much. I have installed the audacious-plugins now. However, when I open Audacious and click on "Services", there's only two options: "Play CD" and "Add CD". I see no plugins.. Thanks a lot, Markus, I've got some lessons before me  Nice with this ...

Re: MP3 tag lyrics
Thanks for your suggestions! asbak: I have installed Audacious but can you tell how/where do I find such a lyric plugin..? Markus: that would be great, I'm using Caja, a fork of Nautilus, but how to make such a script I haven't got a clue, and also I can't find a guide describing it. Do you have a l...

MP3 tag lyrics [Solved]
Hi all, Sorry for posting in a wrong forum, but where else :? When an MP3 has lyrics embedded how do you see them in Linux? In Windows you just right-click the MP3, but in Linux it seems you have to use a 3rd party application just for this. But none of the music players and MP3-taggers (Kid3, Easyt...

Re: Installing a sound card
Hi glowrak guy, thanks a lot. These two sliders were indeed turned down. I also installed the qjackctl and set the Input Device/Output Device to M Audio Audiophile 24/96, and it works now
Thanks again for helping, both of you.
Cheers
