Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

Hey. I'm not sure if this info is of any use to you because we may be experiencing separate problems here. But I did say I'd update you on any progress I made with my issue so here it is. Just check the update at the top of my opening post, or just look at my current latest post in the thread: https...

Re: FL Studio stopped working on Manjaro

Ok. For anyone who stumbles across this thread or is just interested, it looks like this one got solved to some extent. It requires a workaround, but it's very simple! I've been trying to run FLS via PlayOnLinux and Lutris. All you have to do with either of these programs is launch FLS as normal, th...

Re: FL Studio stopped working on Manjaro

Did you ask at reddit too? I don't use Reddit. I suppose it may be worth making an account and asking there though. So you might have better luck in a Manjaro or Wine specific forum. Strange thing is, like you said, that rolling back to previous versions of FL Studio, Wine and your kernel doesn't h...

Re: Hi all ! Old/New GNU/Linux user

Yes, the improvements to Linux in general have made it so much better than 10 years or so ago! I used to keep going back and forth between Windows & Linux but I finally stuck with Linux last year. I'll tell you one tool that really helped me to stick around - Timeshift . If you haven't got it alread...

Re: FL Studio stopped working on Manjaro

Bumping again before I consider reinstalling Manjaro and starting from scratch because I just can't figure this one out..

Re: Scarlett 2i4 under Debian Buster

Does the mic only not work in certain situations (like when using your DAW), or is it always not working? Are you trying to use the mic in a native Linux DAW? I had/have this issue myself. I can't remember the exact cause but I think it appeared when I started using Cadence &/or Jack. I think it may...

Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

Pacman's log is located at /var/log/pacman.log I was just looking through the log and I was thinking, you're saying the issues started around the 26th last month. The last updates I had were on the 25th. Add to that the fact that Manjaro tends to be about a week behind Arch on its updates (apparent...

Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

I only know what some of those things are. But yeh, I can see why you suspected Systemd. Where did you find those Pacman update logs? It'd be good to compare and see if anything stands out. I've spent most of my time on Debian/Ubuntu based distros so I still haven't learned the Pacman commands yet, ...

Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

Interesting to know I'm not alone in having odd issues. That got me thinking if it's not the kernel or wine version maybe it's a systemd issue? Tried a few older versions of systemd and related deps but that didn't affect it at all. Yeh I'm not sure. I've been experiencing this issue for about a fe...

Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

I'm on the Arch based Manjaro and FL Studio recently stopped working on me. As far as I know, it's not a Kernel or Wine version issue. Anyway, I read your thread as I was making my one. I think it's possible we may both be victim to the same issue. Maybe between our two threads we can figure it out....

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

Hmm. Maybe it's just something the distributor I use for Soundcloud monetisation does then. I don't really like them TBH. If they don't actually need that level of access (which never made sense to me anyway), then I like them a lot less. I haven't heard of Tully, but if you use them, please let us ...

Re: I messed up my WINE

Not sure if this is of much use to you for future situations like this, but I've been using a program called "Timeshift" and it's been amazing for saving me a load of hassle in these situations. It's similar to system restore on Windows if you're familiar with that.
