Re: Do you guys have a hard time finding people to collaborate with?

I get people asking me to collab now & then - always on soundcloud for some reason. I don't actually collab often though. But yeh, collaborating is an awkward thing to do online. It definitely limits you a lot more. If you and the other person are lucky enough to be working with the same software, t...

Re: Trouble installing Wine Staging on Mint 19.1

What I posted was an example run. As in the basic flow on how it goes, how to verify if things gets done. You have to read the output of the commands that your OS will return and not just follow what I've shown as output. This is why I posted the output of the command for my OS: to show the basic f...

Re: Trouble installing Wine Staging on Mint 19.1

Just an idea, before re-trying is there a complete purge of a previous version like by using dpkg --purge ? There is something in the Mint update manager called "Purge residual configuration". I'm 99% sure I already ran that but I could try it again, or I could try via the terminal instead. Is the ...

Re: Trouble installing Wine Staging on Mint 19.1

If it happened to me I'd probably try uninstalling winehq and wine (I think for wine staging it's winehq-staging and wine-staging) and start from scratch. If there are other wine versions hanging around then that might cause some installation errors, maybe. Yeh I did I did uninstall all versions of...

Re: Hello!

Thanks, nice to meet you as well! And thanks for the suggestion. I too struggled with Ardour's MIDI capabilities in the past but now I think it has gotten it down, that's why I switch to it. What do you think Ardour is lacking right now in terms of MIDI capabilities? Well, the piano roll just felt ...

Re: Hello!

Hey. Welcome to forum. Ardour is great if you're just working with audio files but it's not too fun or useful when working with midi, tbh. Just a heads up incase you need midi in future.. You might also want to have a look at Harrsion Mixbus which is a modified version of Ardour which basically just...

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

If by admin access you mean username/password, this concludes the process changes per distributor. No you don't give them your username and password. You just have to grant them admin access to your Soundcloud account. I've never liked the idea and it doesn't make sense to me that they need that le...

To monetise your songs on Soundcloud through a distributor you do.

Re: Tracktion Waveform based DAW's - Tracktion Engine?

Ah yeh, I think that thread was where I heard about it actually. It'd be nice if there was a space to watch somewhere that projects built on Tracktion Engine were listed. Maybe this thread can turn into that place if somewhere doesn't already exist.. As we discover these projects, I could add them t...

Re: How do you choose your music distributor - e.g. CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore?

Yeh EmuBands have been really good to me so far so I can recommend them as I've been using them for years now. You lost me a bit with the Soundcloud thing there. Some people can monetise directly through Soundcloud, but I think that's just a small, select group of people at the moment. The rest of u...

Re: Linux Mint 18.3 / 19.x : extremely slow booting problem

I'm not sure I can be of much help here, but just out of interest, which kernel are you running and how did you install it? To tell you which kernel: uname -a I'm running Linux Mint 19.1 with this kernel "4.15.0-43-lowlatency #46-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 6 17:28:08 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GN...

Tracktion Engine based DAW's

A month or so ago I read an article somewhere about Tracktion releasing a developer kit (Tracktion Engine) which people can use to make music software (DAW's, instruments & effects etc). I was really interested to see what came out of it. I've used Tracktion 7 and demo'd the latest version of Wavefo...
