Re: Which DAW to pick?

Connect guitar to DI-box, from di-box to audio interface, there to guitarix and then to daw. And sure, I would record both raw signal and guitarix-made, so that in case there is some fiddling with sounds, there is still raw signal available. <…> So you are recording with guitarix but listening some...

Re: Notation editor that supports piano tabs?

I had never heard of piano tab before now, but I looked it up, and I agree with the prior post that you are better off taking it slow and learning the proper way. I don't think you will find any software that incorporates piano tab given it is not standard notation. I think time spent practicing sig...

Re: Sitala drum plugin

It appears you are using the binary from ardour.org on Ubuntu 18.10. The plugin is designed to work with the Ubuntu-packaged version of Ardour on Ubuntu 18.04.

Re: Sitala drum plugin

I don't think Ardour's packaging is bad or questionable, just different in its purpose. The binaries from ardour.org aim to be distro-agnostic with the expectation that plugins be distro-agnostic as well. You have chosen to package your plugin to be distro-specific, which means it will be compatible...

Re: Beginner question about KXStudio

I take responsibility for derailing this thread with my first post, so I'd like to finish by saying, as far as I am concerned, the side line of discussion ended with khz's last post. His thoughtful words are a nice way to close, so I'm leaving it there.

my advice was friendly too (despite he was acting rude), because someday it could save that dude's life You've gone from unreasonable to delusional. Swapping some of your self-admiration for self-awareness would be good here. Stupid questions is what's burning me out. In past threads, falkTX expres...

@AlexTheBassist, we are getting way off topic. If you wish to continue this discussion, please start a new thread per usual forum rules.

Re: Beginner question about KXStudio

@AlexTheBassist, I think you are talking to yourself at this point. You are taking this in a direction no one else is following. This thread didn't detonate the self-destruction of the world's search engines or the open source community. Luc and I had a brief exchange where I addressed how his initi...

Re: Beginner question about KXStudio

It sounds a bit condescending, almost as if you are telling the poster, "Use Google, idiot". I thought the original question was reasonable to ask here. How come that is bad? So, now it's okay to post idiotic shit on forums, like: “I'm a total dumbster and can't even wipe my ass without assistance,...

Re: Beginner question about KXStudio

A simple Google search should take you to the project's home page: https://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org which begins with the project's own description of itself: KXStudio is a collection of applications and plugins for professional audio production. KXStudio provides Debian and Ubuntu compatible reposi...

Is falkTX gone?

In his last post, falkTX said he was taking his final action on this forum and hasn't posted since. That was over two weeks ago. Did we lose him? That would be very disappointing if we did.

Re: Ardour - support only for official builds?

I am calling BS here. The Ardour bugtracker has 2600+ open entries some that are untouched for 10y+ years. http://tracker.ardour.org/view_all_bug_page.php?filter=82504&page_number=54 This is not how a healthy open source project looks like. This is not how Professional Support looks like. I don't t...

Re: harrison plugins within kxstudio/ardour

@jonetsu Can you elaborate what you mean by the VST versions of the Harrison plugins? I though they were only available in LV2 format pre-bundled with Mixbus (the new AVA line is an exception, but you said you weren't using those). When I purchased them, the only things I downloaded were the license...

Re: SPL Crimson 3, RME UC, RME Babyface Pro & Linux

I would go with the SPL Crimson 3. RME stuff is hit or miss if it is Linux compatible, and even if you can get basic in/out capabilities, the internal routing and DSP is unlikely to be accessible from a Linux OS if controlled by software. The SPL Crimson 3 is entirely controlled by hardware as far a...
