Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
Before sending you on an errand, what I could do is maybe install the MOD Desktop application, see how they do things - this is probably the closest project with a mature UI. I'll be back to you on this one... Actually scrap that: the mod desktop application is still in experimental status and has ...

Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
Hello Fiwe, OK, the audio mystery is solved: it doesn't like jack1. Switching to jack2 and all is good, baxandall works (I cannot reproduce the crash) - I guess the case can be closed ;-) Mousewheel over a knob only changes its value if you have the Shift key pressed. The Shift keypress detection wa...

Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
OK, time again for testing: - You may double-click on the scene to automatically toggle between fully zoomed in/out mode. This may be quicker than the mousewheel... That works, but double clicking to zoom out then back in doesn't seem to go back to where it was before. It seems to get offset by a go...

Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
One reason why the sound you get from Fiwe sounds slightly different from what you'd get from Guitarix is that its Cabinet effect is not properly implemented in Fiwe yet. It uses a default cabinet impulse response instead of the specific 1x15, 4x12 etc. I'll get to it at some stage, or earlier if y...

Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
Hi Fiwe, I re-tried the desktop version last week, and it indeed it works pretty well now: a few more xruns than Guitarix, but it produces sound (tested with jack) and the GUI is usable already. So it looks like you've got the GUI separation sorted out - Good job :-) Diving in, I liked how you picke...

+1 for Renoise. Not open source, but way faster than the monster DAWS once you master the keyboard.sysrqer wrote:Renoise, without question.

Re: Fiwe - wireless audio effects
Confirmed: it installs and opens up here as well. No audio interface detected (I tried also with my focusrite 2i2, just in case).Fiwe wrote:@gimmeapill: I have put a new Android version online that works, at least on a Samsung Galaxy. The audio is not working though, I'll investigate tomorrow...

Re: some new GxPlugins
guitarix have as well a description field in the gxplugin API. Unfortunately I'm most of the time to lazy to fill it up. Even fill the description fields for the plugs for the MOD, is a bit of a pain for me. :? In guitarix description is shown as tooltip text when you hover the mouse over a plug in...

Re: some new GxPlugins
That's a pedal from Devi Ever, she build a lot of extreme Pedals and published here schematics as well, very nice, indeed. Nice job indeed ;-) This brings to mind a feature request: the number of effects starts to be significant (in particular for the fuzzes) and it would be very useful to have a d...

Re: Conky (or system monitors)?
Conky has been part of my setup for a good 10+ years (I run it on top of Fluxbox), and I don't remember having any particular issue for audio production, nothing like xruns, etc... So I'd say go for it. But it highly depends on how you configure your monitors. Since it can run pretty much any back e...

Re: some new GxPlugins
Hi Tramp, Ok, late to the party, but I finally got some time to test the newsies. That was a close call between the GxKnightFuzz and GxLiquidDrive, and it's the LiquidDrive which gets my vote. They both sound very musical, but I find the Liquid more polyvalent and easy going. And here's my overall f...

Re: Consumer grade bluetooth speakers & latency
Dude, please keep it on topic please ;-) Did you even read the post? No Bluetooth connection is involved (I wouldn't even step there for audio work), yet the speakers themselves are not necessarily that bad in a portable scenario. If you want to contribute and have one of those small speakers, try t...
