Re: Linux support for Scarlett 4th Gen 16i16, 18i16, and 18i20
This is great, but if the Pipewire or Linux kernel noise issues don't get sorted out for Scarlett's, that's will be the end of continuing buying Focusrite interfaces (for me) . Windows is never a problem, so it's all an ALSA problem ? I own Rednet, 2 x 18i20 and a OctoPre Dynamic but there are sever...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett - What's your latency ? / Pipewire blames kernel for problems
Updated the topic. Thanks, what you see for 64 is probably standard USB 2,0 sending 64 packets per 1 each transfer of 1msec. The trend seem to be that the kernel (driver) (upstream) which actually means ALSA, is getting blamed for any FR USB noise/interface issues. There are many folks reporting iss...

Focusrite Scarlett - What's your latency ? (Pipewire blames kernel for problems)
Wondering what isthe lowest latency you can get or should expect without noise with the kernel running PREEMPT_DYNAMIC or PREEMPT_RT using Ubuntu audio configuration tool. I encounter the problem since Ubuntu 24.04 with noise on the Scarlett headphone outputs with audio that comes from host via PCM1...

The dream has come true. 16 I/ 10 O default DC coupled I/O 32 I/O (adding two ADATA boxes) MIDI controllable mixer. Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 1 Control Panel GUI
Hi , Since the Gen 1 support is still pending and the code has no much comments, trying to figure out how to add 18i20 Gen 1. Please guide me on which sources to change already have: struct hw_info gen_1_info[] = { { "Scarlett 18i20 USB" }, { } }; struct hw_cat hw_cat[] = { { "1st Gen...

Re: The Class Compliant Audio complaint rant (coining "OSA-CCA")
Very appreciate the first thumbs up. Would be nice if more folks voice their support for change,
Agree it should be take the higher level, as it should become a standard. Perhaps a topic for ADC23 ?

The Class Compliant Audio complaint rant (coining "OSA-CCA")
How many devices do actually fully work on Linux for the audio and mixing interface ? And if they work, it isn't "plug and play". We may need an Operating System Agnostic Class Compliant Audio standard, coining it here as "OSA-CCA" Class compliant hardware, Operating Systems and ...

Re: MIDI over Bluetooth in Linux?
I recall this worked since several Ubuntu releases before . Now on 21.10 and this is the output: linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007fff8556d000) libglib-2.0.so.0 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0x00007f2e6bbe1000) libdbus-1.so.3 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdbus-1.so.3 (0x00007f2e6bb93000) libc.so.6 ...

Roland System 8 USB audio interface
Not sure if many other synths with USB audio support it, but found it quite surrising that the Roland System-8 built in USB Audio interface works with Linux out of the box. Re: Introducing the New RME Fireface UCX II
All those interface companies could add Mixer control over MIDI or a network IP driver emulation just by fimware., but proably the chipset suppliers provide a out of the box dev kit with the functions, so they dont bother to develop MIDI support, Except MOTU perhaps. and "class compliant" ...

Focusrite Clarett+ USB worth it ? (versus Scarlett)
Does someone have a USB Clarett+ (new gen) On the Scarletts (and Octopres specially with Compressor on) some noise can be heard when fully opening the channels. Wonder house Claretts (+) compare. FR dropped Thunderbolt from the Clarret+ range compared to Clarett FYI. https://focusrite.com/en/clarett...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and 18i8 2nd Gen mixer driver
Would love to help with the kernel. You need to download the kernel sources of your running Linux distro, add the patches , build them then replace the kernel files on that running system. Tried to build the low latency kernel for Ubuntu 21.04 and 20.10 by following Ubuntus' instructions but it alwa...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and 18i8 2nd Gen mixer driver
Would be glad to test the updated driver. I have an 18i20 gen 1 and 2. the gen 2 has ran at 4.33msec latency (Ubuntu 20.10 low latency kernel 5.8.0-53 with jackctl) without any XRUNS for months. I compiled the usb audio driver module only (not the whole kernel since that takes hours and keeps failin...
