Hit up your friendly MusE programmer/s for the answers, then you can post them here for posterity. :)

Re: Using RTC Clock versus Alsa HR timer

Have you got sysfsutils installed?

If it wasn't installed it'll need to be installed, then the config file may need to be edited again because the installation will probably overwrite the previous one.

Re: Where is the latency limit???

That's nice. Now run Kontakt, a U-he synth and OBX-d at that setting and get back to us with the results.

Re: Using RTC Clock versus Alsa HR timer

Have you got an "audio" group?
Is your local user a member of the audio group etc etc?

And perhaps your OS (what is it?) works somewhat differently?

Re: Using RTC Clock versus Alsa HR timer

I'm not suggesting you make this change. I don't really know whether it's a good idea to implement it. Some will argue that nowadays it's not really necessary. In the past (years ago) there were perhaps some issues with certain applications and kernels. Nevertheless, you asked how and here's how I ...

It seems they've been ubiquitous on customer help desks around the world for decades already!

@asbak you're replying to a bot. Topic was finished in 2021. jimmy07 is definitely a bot. Posted a similar generic reply at Debian Forums today. Account has been deleted there. Expect more to come as bots can simulate natural speech quite well now. They can't simulate natural logic yet thankfully. ...

Get rid of snap completely, for starters.

Re: Can't hear YouTube Audio with Bitwig open

The short answer (Yes I know I know, infuriating to our hardcore members but this answer is not aimed at you but rather at non-technical users.)

Replace Pulseaudio with Pipewire. Follow the tutorials for your particular OS. Then do whatever you want to do & profit.

Re: Digital noise with Ubuntu

"Were changes made to pulseaudio client & server configs?" I don't remember, but since I replaced Pulseaudio with Pipewire, I thought pulseaudio played no role anymore? Well, there's probably a lot about these clients and servers I don't understand right. Did you remember to stop and ...

Re: Digital noise with Ubuntu

Mr Mint said: Thanks for the explanation. Good to get the definitions right! I tried to record a sample with the mic that's connected to my computer, using Audacity, but strangely, when the recording is going on, there is no noise! Which reminds me, Audacity uses Port Audio. I'm not a programmer an...

Re: Digital noise with Ubuntu

Yes strange problem Mr Mint. I've had issues in the past with BIOS settings (voltage, clockspeed etc) and the power supply conspiring to create weird "pinging" sounds in the audio chain but your case is obviously something different. I'm out of ideas aside from reinstalling the audio serve...

I agree with you as far as PWrate goes, but what is missing for you on the PIpeControl GUI?

The parameters are already detailed in my posts on this thread.

Re: Pipewire, Jack Applications & Low-Latency tuning for soundcards

GUI's look interesting but appear to be missing options (at least, the options I used) that eventually seemed to improve the pipewire experience for me. When or if those options are added it may become more useful.

Re: How hard is life without PulseAudio?

There isn't really a functionality loss. What there is are solutions that work better for a given scenario. [1] I can use Pipewire with its own Jack implementation, it isn't quite as good as native Jack but for many usage cases it is good enough. When doing "consumer audio" type stuff incl...
