Re: ILOK, eLicenser & Waves plugins....

I wouldn't normally say this but if you have already paid for the software, or intend to, then try a cracked version if you can to see if it works. They naturally bypass this stuff which can be useful if the official methods don't work. I normally will say this, I sure hope wine is immune to window...

Re: Kontakt Player 6 ?

Hello all, Does Kontakt Player 6 works reasonably well ? In additon to the above, maybe 16 gig ram as a baseline? I've had good luck installing NI products based on the LinVst git page instructions, and the 3 over-rides mentioned in the Waves folder from the list on the left of the page, with Mint ...

Re: Miroslav Philharmonik 2

Hi, I have Miroslav 2 CE, about 10 gig sample collection, in a puppy linux, 'Bionic 64'. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=115823 Based on Ubuntu bionic repos, kernel 5.05, older wine 3.15, seems to work well, along with IK's SampleTank 3 and Syntronik. I use Reaper for daw, good 32 b...

Re: What sampler plugin do you use?

Hi, I was developing a sampler plugin for Linux, MacOS and Windows, now it can load multiple samples, change note ranges, adjust ADSR parameters, has loop and reverse options. And i want to know what plugins do you use and what you expect from your ideal sampler plugin). Maybe you can also share co...

Re: Load 4 samples, draw morph path between them control speed, etc

yes, some videos are out there. It's really a pandora for sampler hoarders, with speed, movement, and direction control of samples on paths you create, envelopes to make pluks or pads, frenetic or comotose, you'll be intrigued and challenged, not worrying about what can't be done, because what can b...

Have you tried it in the Reaper demo? I can't think of any synthedit plugin
that doesn't work in modern wine/reaper

Re: Kontakt player decided to stop working on me...

I rename a .wine rather than delete it, in some cases, as a lot of things can be moved over without re-installing, especially on identical wine versions. By the way, your instructions in the Waves folder on your website worked to install/authorize Native Access, Reaktor and some Reaktor instruments,...

Re: Migration to LInux

Hey Folks, I wouldn't call myself a pro more just an enthusiast. I recently migrated to a linux workstation from mac. It was aging, and I had spare PC parts around and thought - why not. I've been playing a piano on/off (although more off for 30 years). Self taught - started with Moonlight Sonata @...

Re: Newbie: Need recommendation for distro for running Wine/VST

The truth is, wine/reaper have made great progress in the last few years, and the commercial windows audio software that either won't work in them, or won't allow purchased products to be registered, is a minority, whose well-programmed competitors more than make up for. Add on the excellent linvst ...

Re: youtube now having adverts in music videos

I've used youtube-dl command line, and it hasn't yet downloaded any add content.
Some distros have a gui for it. Not the same as an enjoyable uninterupted stream,
but to me, youtube looks to be going full-on subscription in the near future,
adding annoyance after annoyance...

Re: Why I can't get away from Windows (for now)

A semi-pro reaper license is only $60. If you'll get used to wine-staging, installing some wine over-rides, using the linvst wrapper, and applying linux paths and comon sense to installers, the linux reaper and windows reaper in wine are the best price/compatibility duo you'll get for running window...

Re: VST3 support in Linux?

The whole Spitfire regimen is different from most vst sampler setups. So a little more initial setup time. It does provide a plugin, LABS.dll, if memory serves. It wouldn't scan correctly in my setups, so I'll come back to it in a year. Quite the ambitious project. In the meantime, I got Sektor at a...
