Re: Something new from me.

Technique, structure and play are fine, sounds are gorgeous, and the theme is lovely. 8) The Yoshimi string section is well placed, and peacefully orchestrated. All very nice!

Gear inventory re-discoveries

I have a NUX MP2 Mighty Plug, a tiny guitar gizmo with very nice digital studio gear available to edit on a pair phone/tablet apps. It's been superceded by newer competing devices, but still sounds fine. I fired up a Line 6 Spider III 30 amp, and connected the Mighty Plug output to the auxillary inp...

Re: Devuan/Debian, Liquorix kernel and Nvidia

Naming is important. 'suggested' could be for crucial-but-not-quite-dependant functions, or for common functionality/teamwork among a typical use case, or for receiving newer versions for testing. It would be good for distro maintainers to agree on a naming convention (don't hold your breath  ...

Mi dos centavos, (amidst a war of attrition with the tax-man) and fully void of deep technical knowledge :( Get a decent audio/midi interface/soundcard that works in linux. Use a linux that's already designed for musicians. Consider your hard-drives FULL at 80%, nothing good happens as you approach ...

Re: I need help! What is the most perfectly functioning audio/midi Interface for Linux?

A used E-mu X Midi 2x2 is a great find, 32 more midi channels, solid build, small, has a blue light, flawless in linux, no driver needed.

Make an offer on a new one...https://www.ebay.com/itm/255289251645

Re: Marian goes Linux

A business should fear corporate espionage more than open-source driver releases  Company insiders with addiction issues can and do sell off crucial tech...and evil buyers seek out and groom such people. There are lots of people just one supported app or hardware device away from including a l...

Might help some mid-tier moviemakers with linux render engines to have a high-end audio card or three, and not rely on a corporate OS 8)

Re: Light of the Moon - pop rock single

I agree, multi-tracking poses difficulties. Keeping energy, and recording when the energy exists, is a challenge. I think the vocal is more laid-back than the situation that the lyrics present. The vocal needs to present the intensity suggested by the lyrics. If this girl is so very desirable, there...

Hi, my computer has an old nvidia pcie 9400 GT videocard, Reaper daw, both linux and windows versions, the latest yabridge plugin wrapper, in debian MX Linux based AVLinux with xfce desktop interface. I've read that wine-staging 9.8 has some bug-fixes for audio, but I haven't tried it yet. The Reape...

For a decade +, I run a mono to stereo cable from my guitars to an m-audio PCI soundcard stereo inputs, into reaper stereo tracks. I really like the results. I also appreciate the knowledgeable comments! BlueCat have a team of utilities Connector, FaderHub, and Freeceiver, to enable streaming among ...

Re: Poor Usability - Why virtual Potentiometers (knobs) in Computer Audio Software, why?

In a good gui, the spacing, size, and contrast are more important than the choices of knobs vs sliders etc. Guitarix isn't 'crowded', and the visuals are easy on the eyes. The commercial Amplitube 5, is an example of a decent engine wedged into a 1982 Fiat sedan. Most of their gui is worse than it w...

Hopefully they will figure out a budget for linux, and make their intentions clear. Maybe they use, or plan to use, an embedded linux in high-end gear, and someone thinks it will be cost-effective to have distro level linux in their consumer/semi-pro software. They are a good company, and I hope the...

I love his 'top 10' type videos. Although I truly hope that his expertise and current interests will still allow him to listen for enjoyment at times, without a critics ear. I hardly ever hear or seek out commercial music. Gonna watch the vid you linked again, saw it earlier, maybe I can find a keep...
