Re: Migrating from windows ... Question 1 of ∞ !!

Mainstream distros try to cover all the typical use cases. But a recording/performing/creating musician has specific needs, and often limited time, and must budget resources. AVLinux boss does a great job managing this reality, because the maintainer has both typical use cases, and is a recording/pe...

Re: Presonus Studio One through Weston in X11 session?

So, I get a reply from Presonus support after asking for a download url...instead, they send me a link to an info page that does not have the url

Makes me think we're lucky some folks stick to closed-source projects

Re: Boss/Roland amp gear editor linux version under way

Work continues on this editor tool, it's supporting sound presets from more of the Katana lineup, from the readme," added mk1, mk2, gen3 patch file import/export. With version 3 Katana amps in the shops, there may be bargains on earlier models. Boss ran out of parts for the Katana:Go mini devic...

Re: Presonus Studio One through Weston in X11 session?

I requested a download url for the linux beta, after failing to find one on their site. Like it's a child that's so ugly, the puppy ignores him unless a porkchop is tied around the kid's neck. But thanks to your hints, I found it! Glad you like the kvr content! It's fun to find and use the gr...

Re: Media Junkie - A new tune I've been working on

Doesn't appear to be a tune "that switches tempo, time signature, and even genre". I missed a theme, sequence, connectivity or relationsip between the parts. The band 'Lord Huron' changes things up to conclude some of their songs, as part of the story-telling. You could pick a theme, for e...

Re: Gear inventory re-discoveries

Hi, and welcome to the forum! I do try to maximize each $, and there are many new things these days, whose 'greatness' can be explored before a purchase. I saw a video last week of a ' new version' compared side by side with the old one, and I mostly preferred the old version, and a little EQ and an ...

Re: Presonus Studio One through Weston in X11 session?

Hi, can you write up a quick review of your Studio One experiences? Workflow, efficiency, included plugins/utilities, installation steps, anything that will help linux musicians consider this as a possibility. And if the linux version is included with a windows version purchase, as is the case with...

Re: A few new tunes escaped to youtube (no metal, rock or rap)

I do have 80 songs on my spotify list between 3 and 8 minutes, if your app can 'sort by duration', and most of the linux spotify clients can do that.
Cheers

Re: A few new tunes escaped to youtube (no metal, rock or rap)

Hi, and thanks for listening. The song length is easily adjusted, a quick whack, snip and/or fade in/out, copy-paste etc using audacity, and 30 minutes can be 6, or 60, if one desires. Personally, I've heard a lot of fine 3 minute 'non-pro' songs that I wished had been 7 minutes  Rick Beato's ...

Microtuning fans, U-he sound designer has a question

I think he's interested if there are enough customers interested, to justify some work, asking

"Any MTS-ESP users here?"

If you are such a people, let them know, or forever remain pentatonic

Re: BBB (Big Boomer Bænd) -- Fedivision 2024

It is fun indeed! Thoroughly enjoyable, and with happy surprises. Love the guitar solos, drums and instruments. I'd like more crunchy edge on the guitars sounds, more high-freq on the instruments, but they are Santana-like, and my ears are old etc etc. Well done! In audacity, I used the bass-treble ...
