Re: audio interface usb
when I connect it to a usb 3.0 hub I'm getting a lot of xruns. This happens because USB3 is quite different to USB2. It even uses other controlling protocol and needs to emulate older USB controllers interfaces, thus giving such loss in performance. Also, USB 2.0's 480 mbps of raw speed is enough f...

Re: Loading Windows VSTs within Carla
This is only the first beta, lot of stuff needs polish. Yes, I understand. Since routing in Catia is just as simple and cool as it could ever be, could you make WinVSTs restore its stage when loading into Carla? I'm not a programmer, but this task seems to be simplier that fixing Ardour's UI issues...

Hello from Russia, Moscow
Hey there, folks! Glad to join you. I'm a bass player, beer/weed lover and beginning composer. I left high school when was 15 in order to enter musical college in city of Kursk, Russia. I prefer metal, rock, blues, some jazz and classical music. Now I have some bands and a solo project, all of them ...

Re: Some smarter filtering stuff
If only it was a tar file with a simple directory tree in it! What's the problem? Pull everything inside a build directory which you should create and do usual make configure make sudo make install while having your evening tea or beer. If there's a problem with deps, the confugure utility's gonna ...

Re: Batch denoising of an Ardour session
a series of super narrow bands at its harmonics, say 50Hz, 100Hz and 150Hz, would kill most of the hum. Theoretically at least. You're right that this helps to get rid of that 50 Hz buzz, but it will never be 150 Hz since going octave up means doubling the original frequency. So this should be 50, ...

Re: Should I compose music on linux?
1) can I use Miroslav Philharmonik and omnisphere in any of the better linux sequencers? 2) are there soundfont libraries (or anything else for linux) that would make me happily kiss the "above mentioned libraries" good bye. 3) can I link qtractor with a score editor? (using jack), or any...

Re: audio interface usb
I'd recommend you Focusrite Scarlett (but beware, it has some issues working both with some WiFi cards on some systems, still can't get the reason), almost any USB-driven M-Audio and Creative. If you need lots of channels, pay some attention to RME Hammerfall. Behringer's interfaces would work well ...

Re: Loading Windows VSTs within Carla
Hi, folks. I'm having a trouble using Carla as a plugin in Ardour 3. It does almost all the job but freezes Ardour's UI. When I open a Windows VST (freeware, I don't support piracy), I get GUI and all the stuff, but Ardour is freezing and unfreezing constantly, giving me no way to control it normall...
