Re: No sound in browser/wrong sound card after update

see if you have a /etc/asound.conf file in your system, and if yes remove it.
I do not have that file.
What could be wrong? I have no idea what "I" use to set up jack, I just installed KXS 14.04 from live and didn't tweak anything (I'm just a noob). So, I really have no clue...

Re: 14.04 forgets wifi password

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately it doesn't work (yet).
I enabled the KDE wallet, but the network management applet seems not to "see" that. It just goes on like before, forgetting passwords and settings.

Is there anything else I should do after enabling it?

Thanks.

14.04 forgets wifi password [SOLVED]

Hi everyone. I have a minor but quite annoying problem. KXStudio 14.04's network manager applet forgets the wifi password every time. Even if I tick the box "available to all users" (actually, it forgets that "tick" too). It's been doing this since the installation. I know the password by heart now,...

No ALSA sound/wrong sound card after update [SOLVED]

Hey, I have a problem. Since a few days (I guess after the latest updates) I can't play any audio in any browser. It's not a Flash problem, even mp3 and ogg files come with no sound. I was thinking of a sound card selection issue (vlc and the other programs can play audio normally). So I opened alsa...

Re: Cadence and KDE activities

How you do that? With a script, as explained here: http://blog.tube42.se/?p=1225 . If set ondemand, for example, it remains on demand for all the activities when switching between them. Switching to Audio activity doesn't push it back to Perfromance if it was changed in other activity before. It wo...

Cadence and KDE activities

One of the KDE tools that I use most is "activities". I have for example an activity "Desktop", to use my laptop normally (checking email, etc) with power saving settings. The activity "Audio" has instead maximum CPU performance and related settings. It would be very nice to have the following thing...

Repositories issue in 14.04 [SOLVED]

Hello, I have installed with no problem KXStudio 14.04 from the dvd. I think I have a problem with repositories, though. Synaptic keeps saying: W: Conflicting distribution: http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net trusty Release (expected trusty but got stable) Moreover, the "music" repository does not seem ...
