Screen locker background
In KXStudio the background for the screen locker is "KXStudio Stripes" instead of the KDE default (which is Elarun). How do I change it to my custom background? Which file should I change? (I know there is the "widget screen locker option", but that is unsafe, as it lets someone ...

Re: USB2 Hardware on newer computers
Is there a way to disable USB3 only on one specific port? No, not to my knowledge, anyway. The BIOS setting is one for all. I tried with unloading/reloading the kernel modules but it didn't work: if I enable USB3 in the BIOS, then the USB2 kernel module can't see the hardware. I didn't spend much t...

Carla to play music live
Hello! I've started playing keyboard in a band, and my keyboard does not have many sounds. Instead of buying a new one or a midi expander, I was thinking of using the plugins and soundfonts in the computer, like most people do today. Is Carla suitable for that (or is there another dedicated Linux pr...

Re: USB2 Hardware on newer computers
Wow, this sounds sad, especially if one would like to use the 3.0 for other purposes (e.g. file transfer).emarsk wrote:I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s and I had to disable USB3 from the BIOS.

Re: Yoshimi in Ardour
Thanks falk!
Any way to use ZynAddSubFX instead, since it's more updated? (For example, can Carla be used inside Ardour?)

Yoshimi in Ardour [SOLVED]
Hi!
I have a problem. When I use Yoshimi as a plugin in Ardour (4), and I set an instrument, whenever I hit stop and play, Yoshimi gets back to "simple sound".
How can I make it keep the instrument of my choice?
Thanks!

Used it yesterday for recording and editing stuff with a friend. Smooth, clean, light, and pleasant from launch to export!

Re: Call for Testing: KXStudio 14.04.1 ISOs
Hi guys,
Non-tester here (noob).
Is the 14.04.1 already usable? I'm getting a new (empty) laptop in the next days, and I should have an OS ready for it.
Keep up the good work!

Can't wait to try it out!
How stable is it? Can I already use it without crashes and the like, has someone tried?

Muffled delay with feedback.
Hello all, I'm looking for a plugin that does the following: - can be synced with tempo - delay (possibly stereo) - adds convolution so that the echo is not a perfect copy of the input - feedback, that gets "more muffled" everytime. Basically, a delay fed to a reverb, but I would like the ...

Elementary OS anyone?
Hi!
Has anyone tried to use Jack and KXStudio on Elementary OS?
I've heard it's light and based on Ubuntu and it accepts its repos (though I'm not sure how usable it is at this state).
So...anyone?
I'm sure there are a bunch of people here who like the eyecandy and simplicity.
