Re: One month and counting without RT kernel on Arch Linux

I have found this kernel to lock up less personally, plus it would be nice if Archlinux made multiple version kernels viable for those of us who may use proprietary drivers. Also, on Nvidia I have found that RT is a real pain and can lead to a black screen when starting X11 and even more lockups dur...

Re: One month and counting without RT kernel on Arch Linux

I think the Archlinux zen kernel is the way to go. Another plus is that it uses the newer I/O schedules like kyber/mq-deadline/bfq for better multi read/wrrite performance on HDD's. This kernel also has optimized the RCU timer threshold setting for more responsiveness. Attached is a zip I created to...

Re: update wine-rt

Wine-staging has the wine-rtprio patch in it. I use wine-staging-nine for maximum performance on my AMD hardware. Also, wine-rt just patched regular wine and I have found that some plugins actually work better with wine-staging, especially when it comes to fonts rendering in d3d based plugins.

Re: KXStudio project is currently on a break

I wonder if a transition to flatpak would make falktx's work easier as you just build to that instead of 4 different buntu's plus Debian with the current apt repo. Also, snaps might flip the bill as well. Finally, you would get the added benefit that flatpak or snaps are distro-agnostic. That's afte...

Re: Versilian Community Sample Library

I've been scratching my head on this one. Why is there no paid SFZ (FULL) version of the library even though you may just target sforzando/aria player. I hate kontakt 5 never could get the demo to work in wine. However sforzando works like a charm even at 48000/64 at 2 nperiods.

Resurrecting GIG Support in Carla

I was just thinking how cool would it be to bring back GIGA samples support to the carla plugin host. I think LMMS's GIGA sampler plugin can serve as a base as it is qt based and doesn't have the licensing restrictions like Linuxsampler. https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/tree/stabl ... /GigPlayer

Re: For those of you that use samplers - do you use GIG?

I wonder if carla could use lmms's gig sampler code as a bass for compatibility. I think the licensing is pretty clear on it if you want to resurrect it. https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/tree/stabl ... /GigPlayer

Re: NEW! Safe Plugin Scanner version 2 with cache

It works as expected now. There are still a few ladspa plugins that fail, but all in all they are detected. here is the stderr output of muse using -DD and running the pulseaudio backend. Also, attached in the zip file is the scanner cache for LinuxVST. These are the only errors I see now on stdout....

Re: NEW! Safe Plugin Scanner version 2 with cache

I've been having trouble getting sforzando to work on my system using LinVst which is a shame as this is the only way to get automation support with the host (Muse), even carla doesn't support this. It has failed ever since the new scanner has been implemented. Below is a snippet of what I think is ...

Re: "Constant Rolling Studio" Debian Sid Based Distro Is Out

I can't seem to easily download that distro and its almost two years old. Plus again 32 bit if you want a multimedia machine 64 bit is the way to go why do you think mac's are only 64 bit now. As for nvidia rt your in a world of pain unless you don't update kernels often and I suggest you use my 3.1...

Alrighty, maybe their will be a way to hide the packages that dont work but yeah wasn't to sure about backports and thus removing, nothing was installed from there anyway.

Re: "Constant Rolling Studio" Debian Sid Based Distro Is Out

ITS NOT A BUG, not your fault what I mean is it wants to pull in some of unity here is the error Depends: gir1.2-unity-5.0 but it is not installable in other words unity doesn't exist cause its DEBIAN which doesn't carry any of the Ubuntu unity libraries at least in sid and testing don't know about ...
