Re: Best DAW for the casual beginner?

Muse seems pretty easy, qtractor is a mess as you're pretty much limited by the way it routes audio (and the way it handles busses is kind of horrible). I would say Muse or even Bitwig. for a beginner who wants room to grow. If you need something now and don't mind learning a new thing later then go...

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

Works with Jack Audio. You might need to change the midi port to the Black Pearl Drumkit LV2 as well at least when I compiled Muse on Archlinux it defaults to the first available synth. It should work on other backends using RTAudio, but I have not tried switching them yet. Try building your Muse so...

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

I add an LV2 synth --> Black Pearl Drums (NOT The Multi-Output Variant) to Muse's arranger view. Next, I add a midi track and create a clip on the arranger's timeline. then I open a piano roll view and use the pointer tool and click on a note. It works the same way but instead creating a drum track....

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

I can confirm that the AVL Drums don't show their purplely red animation either like in Ardour. Weird. However a workaround, for now, is I can play them in the drum/piano roll in Muse and they sound fine. Thanks for fixing the scanner bug.

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

I also find it weird how I'm now getting two entries for all Linux native vsts, but not for my LinVST bridged ones. It didn't do that a few days ago. Not a functional thing just it makes the menus a bit more annoying now.

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

I still get a hang after clicking 2 or 3 times on the helm LV2 Show GUI option still. Also, I'm getting a strange double entry thing going on now and I didn't have this a few days ago when I last built from git. I'm using Archlinux on Wayland, but the same thing happens on Xorg. Below I have attache...

Aria Player/Sforzando crashes as an exported LV2 from Carla in Ardour

I got a weird issue when I try to open the DAW's piano roll with a midi capable WindowsVST (such as sforzando) as an LV2 plugin using Carla as the host. Every time I press a midi note regardless of what DAW I use it crashes it. This does not happen when using an audio plugin with no midi output expo...

Linvst + Plugin Script

I have created a little bash script that allows you to go into a directory with .dll vst's and copy them all at once with a corresponding .so file for use in LinVst. Also, the script with link all .so file to $HOME/.vst for those of us who are lazy and want everything in one spot. A PKGBUILD is prov...

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse

Helm's LV2 still crashes on Arch after opening, closing and reopening it in Muse. And it also hangs Muse the same way. :( However, it still works in Ardour. The dpf plugins now work though yeah :D

Feature Request - MusE as an appimage

I saw a recent update to the appinfo stuff for MusE on Github. I was thinking how great if we had an appimage release post 3.0.2. LMMS is another QT app which supports the appimage format and it could help for having a clean environment for testing without dealing with the headache of distro specifi...

Re: The best Linux DAW's in 2019?

It seems Mixbus and Muse complementing one another is the best setup.
