Re: jack2 stopped working on my manjaro machine...

when i do force restart, jack gets started (I guess, I can see it when i open qjackctl that it is running) but cadence gives me the same error screen as above. so it seems cadence fails to connect/interact correctly with jack2? I checked the sound cards, yes i have the right one connected and it sh...

Re: Manjaro - Cadence doesn't start properly?

How are you starting cadence? I seem to remember having this issue when I was using cadence. I think I solved it by using the commandline option under the autostart settings of the DE. I'll have to check later but think it was cadence --start-session

Re: Just installed kxstudio repos, no audio from browser +hum

In cadence turn on the pulseaudio bridge, this should give you sound from Firefox.

I'm not sure about the noise problem. Are you sure the right card is used in the settings?

What happens when you do force restart? Are you sure the right card is selected in the settings of cadence?

Re: MIDI Channels

You might need to configure midi controller to send the type of messages you need. If you can't do that from the controller itself you can check with the config program, if there is one (I know there is one for the mpd32).

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

Kernel, video drivers, systemd...a lot will have changed. Are you using free or proprietary video drivers and which one is recommended for the card you have?

As someone who's partner is a medical practitioner I can confirm that hospitals are certainly not deserted, at least not in the European country we live in.

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

Crashing while watching videos sounds like a video driver problem and nothing to do with the desktop environment.

Re: general guidance with CPU governors, etc

You should try nbfc, I had the same problem with my HP laptop and once nbfc was working the fan speeds and temps were drastically reduced https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc/wiki/First-steps

Re: Linux support Behringer UMC404HD?

If you need 5.3 then install 'linux-lowlatency-hwe-18.04-edge'.

Edit, oh wait, you're saying that before 5.3 it was fine?

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?

I found KDE to be solid as a rock for the last ten years. Now it is a broken mess. Kubuntu is a disaster really! What KDE are you using to get such stability? Do you have the KXStudio repos? Do you have a SOLID JACK? Does KDEnlive work? I use Neon and KDE is stable for me, can't even remember the l...
