Re: [SOLVED] Disable pulseaudio Jack source but keep Sink running.

Kxstudio isn't dead at all but the dev of that would probably point you towards Catia.

I don't understand what the problem was originally, how can a midi application cause feedback? Which applications are you talking about?

Re: Release: New Session Manager Version 1.4.0

If my 2 cents are worth anything the new options make sense to me and seem to be clearer.

Re: Ardour-$foobar

I think unfa was right. No one is expecting advanced midi centric workflows but what is already there doesn't really work.

Re: How do you write/sequence drums?

I'm guessing I make different music to you but I think it's similar in the creative process. Many people think it's best to write drums later or last, many people start with drums, I suppose it depends on what your idea is, whether it is focused on a guitar riff or if you have a particular rhythm in...

Re: Unubtu20.04 /linux-image-5.x-lowlatency, useful or not?

It's very easy to install and/or remove the low latency kernel as it is in the Ubuntu package manager. Just use your package manager or apt and you will be fine.

Re: Ardour and Mixbus metronome issue

Have you checked to see where it is routed? It's been a while since I used ardour but I vaguely remember you can set the metronome to go to another output.

Re: AVLinux Usage

I think you could use AVLinux with updated Firefox PPAs, this way it'd be the only thing up-to-date. How would you update from a PPA without updating everything else? Surely apt update would trigger everything else to need updating. Snap or flatpack might be another option (and mozilla provide one ...

I believe the CPU scheduler it uses is more hungry but is meant to be more responsive overall...or something like that.

Re: KODE

Just gave the synth a try in Reaper. It seems strange to me that I can hear a saw(?) with all three oscillators at zero. The envelopes don't act as I would expect. With the default settings the release for amp env appears to do nothing yet has some kind of relationship with the filter env (env relea...

Re: Gullfoss

why would you want this? when there are tons of free plugins in linux! For what I understand , I do this with a EQ and a compressor. If I want to soften the outcome a bit I use a saturator. and the list is long. I dont even use just 1 compressor for every thing, I try several compressors, and somet...
