So it is normal and to be expected then? What you're saying makes sense but it's strange that so many people I ask about it say this doesn't happen to them. I will forget about it and work around then in that case, thank you.

I have tried uninstalling cadence and jack2dbus and installing qjackctl and jack2. The first time I ran this with the default settings the delay disappeared. Then I rebooted and the delay is back.

Any one use this? It appears not not to be actively developed anymore but it looks quite impressive all the same.

If you're on an Arch based distro then pacman -Rns will remove all the program and configs and unneeded dependencies. If you're not then I don't know. You shouldn't need to reinstall, just try removing the stuff in ~/.config and restart Ardour. edit: or just get on the irc and ask there, you'll get ...

Try deleting (or moving somewhere else to backup) the ardour folder in ~/.config. I don't know if Ardour will work if you remove all the files here but one of them must contain the settings you have set up.
