Re: EQ10Q update

Very nice. Last time I tried this it crashed Ardour but it seems to run well now.

Re: ams-lv2 1.0.2 released

Modulars are not that difficult. It's perfect to learn about synthesises and you can do anything with it. That's true, I'm understand what the components do and how synthesis works in general but starting from scratch and thinking about which component you want to do what is another level. I'm more...

Re: Using multiple soft synths live

I haven't done it in Linux but I used to do it when I used Windows just as briandc suggests. I used to have a midi keyboard that had channel + and - buttons so it really was easy to switch channels. Obviously would depend on your hardware but I would imagine most have this functionality easily acces...

Re: Best and worst plugins?

I was reading about all the Steve Harris plugins the other day and noticed something that I could do with them that I have been missing in Linux since switching from Windows...Matrix Spacializer for mid/side processing when mastering. I had no idea how to set this up without things Ozone and Ableton...

Moving midi controller knobs too quickly = no midi received

I'm trying to set up my MPD32 with Ardour and have a midi map installed that I found online but I'm coming across an odd problem. If I move a fader or knob on my controller too quickly then the parameter it is controlling in Ardour stops moving, if I move it slowly again then it works continuously. ...

Re: Can't export my track

I actually managed to get it exported in the end. I bounced a few midi tracks that weren't doing much in the track and that gave me a much more stable sound. Plus stopping everything non-essential that was running on my system.

This is a bit beyond me (at the moment anyway) but looks like a very powerful tool.

Re: Can't export my track

The problem is that I have too much going on to be able to play it in real time without horrible xruns, that's why I can't record it in to Audacity or Ardour. It looks like disabling plugins and then exporting to Ardour in sections/stems might be the only way. It's just so damn time consuming, espec...

Re: Low buffer sizes, Cadence/Jack..

I'm sure I read something about this recently but I can't remember where or what it said exactly. I have a feeling it might have been on the wiki and might be a bug in one of the versions of Jack (or perhaps in something else).

Sorry for such vague information.

Can't export my track

Seems I've cornered myself in to a bit of a tight spot. I've made a track in Qtractor and now the mix is pretty much done I'm running out of cpu power to playback smoothly. I didn't realise that qtractor doesn't have an export/render function to record the whole master output (or perhaps I'm doing s...

Best and worst plugins?

GMaq made an interesting statement in the ladspa to lv2 thread: As an observer LADSPA is a frustrating lot with some stellar DSP code in a small percentage, a very large number of so-so plugins with known problems (ie EQ's without interpolation and horrid cross band zipper noise) and the largest sha...

That screen shot seriously makes me miss those Variety of Sound plugins. Might have to install wine and use this when it's ready.

Yes, perhaps unfortunate timing but I'm sure the price tag attached to both, assuming T5 isn't free in Linux, would certainly be attractive to quite a few people.
