Re: Tips for EQ and compress piano solo.

I wish I could equalize myself into Maria Joao Pires, but it's sadly not in the cards. You could take the EQ curve from one of the recordings and apply it to your recording although I'm not aware of any linux plugins to do this (it is a thing though). Since one of the libraries I play is the Salama...

Re: Tips for EQ and compress piano solo.

For EQ I always look at the 200-500hz range since it can get really muddy if there is too much in there. However, if you want to soften/darken the piano I would try a high shelf, or if you want to keep some of the higher end and want to remove some of the high mids then use a wide Q bell shape. Comp...

Re: Bitwig piano

I don't know what you mean by 'bitwig piano'. As far as I know, there is no product by bitwig called that. There are tons of presets around for piano, and you can load pianobook presets into its sampler, but it's difficult to know what you are referring to.

Re: Alternative to Triple Band Parametric with Shelves

Hey! I'd love to know more about what you're doing with the didge, what mic you are using, any recording techniques, what processing you are doing etc. I'm thinking about getting a mic to record mine but not really sure what to go for. Regarding parametric eq, there are quite a lot around and most d...

what if... those experts were right and that AI is already smarter than humans? Emotion is big factor in bad decisions and so you could say that since AI currently do not have this then they are able to make smarter and perhaps more informed and objective decisions. Depends what you mean by smart t...

I mean why not report them? The devs can choose to respond or not.

Re: Why does starting JACK as systemd also load Pulseaudio?

I'd guess that it's sound.target then? You could try looking at that and changing it, or maybe remove the 'after' and 'bindsTo' in this file, probably will still work but you may need to let it sleep depending how quickly other things get loaded on boot.

Epic reply, never saw that coming. 10/10 derailment points.

So anyone, who actually has used pipewire, want to answer my question?

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

What exactly is it, in a practical use case examples, that you've achieved with pipewire that you can't do without it? It's not me saying that the alternatives don't work or can't be used for audio work. But to answer your question, different latencies set for different applications is very useful ...
