Re: Hiss In my system : Where does it come from?

Sounds like I have at least one of those things :? thanks a lot for your response. When you say "several devices connected" what do you mean exactly? On the (electrical) wall outlet, the (audio) interface, the (usb) PC..? About the (un)balanced cables, clearly yes, I just use cinch / RCA s...

Hiss In my system : Where does it come from?

Hi everyone My audio interface is a M-Audio fasttrack pro, and it works pretty good (no additional driver, just usb-audio I guess) but there is a high-pitched hiss that makes me crazy. As far as I can tell, it's only a monitoring problem, and the hiss is not on the tape. The thing is, it only turns ...

Re: Zyn-fusion MIDI channel selection

Thank you for your help! If you're having issues with zyn responding to MIDI events, that's a pretty noteworthy bug, so could you clarify the steps needed to replicate the issue? I can try ; - Open Qtractor, create a midi track. - Add ZASFX as a plugin... Wait. I'm confused, now it works ; see, my Z...

Zyn-fusion MIDI channel selection

Hi Everyone! After like a two years long break (for various and equally grim reasons) I'm putting my studio back together. I guess I got the blues again. But ZynAddSubFx is behaving strangely. First, it's now dressed up in "Fusion" GUI, whether I invoke the LV2 or the VST plugin flavor ; I...

Re: Guitarix as a plugin?

Hum, this morning, everything is broken: My exported plugin won't produce any sound or open on click, and even carla (updated an hour ago in the last KXStudio update) won't open (the plugin window opens but the GUI won't show up - Qtractor 0.9.1 in i3wm 4.14.1) :( Let's try another approach : Using ...

Re: Guitarix as a plugin?

So after update, it should be enough to open the file ~/.lv2/guitarix2.lv2/guitarix.xml with a text editor and replace the line <Filename>guitarix -D</Filename> with <Filename>guitarix -D -E</Filename> to make your experience a bit more smooth. regards hermann Duly noted ; thanks a lot , sir. PS - ...

Re: Guitarix as a plugin?

Hi, and welcome to linux! :) Well, it is possible, but it requires some work to be done. And this completely works. All the PHANTASTIC gx presets world at your fingertips. But hey, it's a dirty hack. So yea, OK when I load my carla-exported plugin, I can acces any GX preset. But if I close the wind...

Re: How long do you need to finish a song?

I've been working on my next album for several years now. There are 35 song folders on the hard drive, of which probably a third should be trashed. I hate this ; I fantasize of finishing a song within a day, and an album in a month, but that simply never happened to me :?

That's great news ; BTW, have you considered making the package available on F-Droid? It's a really cool non-google software repository for Android, focused on FLOSS ; exactly what QmidiCtl is :)

QmidiCtl is now available for Android

The totally indispensable DAW Remote (transport & by-track volume, rec, mute & solo) that made the Nokia N900 days so sweet is now available for Android, the now mandatory lower class phone OS! 1- Install QmidiNet on your DAW machine 2- Install QmidiCtl on your crappy disposable & sandbo...

Re: Gx presets in DAW tracks

This is just fantastic ; I'm in heaven now, not sure I'll come down soon. 8) Don't forget to set the -D option in the carla command line entry, otherwise it wont sound like expected and you might falling faster then you would. :D Aaah, I though Carla was doing it on its own (as per the thread linke...
